I've still got a ton of photos I'm going through from our vacation back in May. It was sort of photo-overload and I'm finding so many beautiful places again. Only problem is that some of them, like this adorable little church, I can't remember where they were. I know it was SOMEWHERE on the north side of Tobyhanna, PA not far out of town.

I found this great monument while we were on vacation earlier year. He is standing in front of DL Stevens Antiques in Slatington, PA in Lehigh County. Slatington is a really beautiful little town. I wish we would have had more time to stick around and check out the shops.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but man, I've been slacking this week. I've been pretty busy on the real job so sleep has to come in somewhere. Here are a few more shots around the house in Armbrust, PA with the 180mm macro lens. This is a great bug lens because it has a lot of reach and captures a lot of detail, but I've been too busy to just sit around and wait for the bugs. Maybe I can try that this weekend.

Friday night's 97% waning gibbous moon shot from my backyard in Armbrust, PA. This is only my second attempt at close-up lunar photography. It is such a different animal from the deep sky objects I am used to shooting.

Unlike the lunar eclipse where I was just "winging it" with the gear I had in my truck, this was shot with my Celestron C90 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope (a GREAT little grab-and-go scope) on my Skywatcher Star Adventurer GTi with a 3x barlow and a Svbony SV705c planetary camera.

I'm a little late making today's post because I've been working around the house, but I managed to get out last night and get a lot of lunar photography done, including this single shot of the 99% waning gibbous moon. This was with my full-spectrum modified Canon EOS RP and the Moon Bazooka - my Sigma 150-600mm zoom lens. Shot from my backyard in Armbrust, PA, I was at home so I had plenty of tripods available. 🤣And yes, the one that is SUPPOSED to be in my truck found its way back where it belongs!!!

Confession: I was not prepared last night. It is not like I didn't know this was coming. Heck, I even posted to tell you all "Heads up! This is happening tonight" But in the back of my mind, I figured like most other astronomical events in Southwestern PA, we were going to be clouded over (which is exactly what the forecast called for). I had to work, I got back to the yard at midnight, the peak of the eclipse was at 12:12am. I was pleasantly surprised that the sky was clear, so I got my camera, the Moon Bazooka (my trusty Sigma 150-600mm lens), and my tripod....... No wait, I didn't get my tripod because I didn't have a tripod in my truck!! Insert facepalm here. So I did what I could and shot the eclipse at 600mm HANDHELD. I think it turned out a little softer than I would have liked, but I still captured the shot that I didn't think I was going to have a chance at getting this year.

For my and who are interested, there is a partial lunar eclipse (96%) visible tonight from North and South America and parts of Europe. Go outside and take a look up to the sky tonight if you want to catch it. It peaks at 12:12am EDT. I'm working now but I'm hoping to be done in time to catch it. Of course Western Pennsylvania skies may have other plans ☁️😶‍🌫️☁️
