Every so often I upload images to Pixabay so that others can use them for their own creations. Well, I uploaded some from my visit with the cherry blossoms, and one was named Editors' Choice almost immediately. That's pretty cool, as the EC images I've seen are pretty fantastic! This is my second EC, hoping for more to come. Give yourself a gift this year, the gift of education! Join VPPA's Northern District as they present Judy Reinford and Metamorphosis - From Photography to Art.

This all-day class will show how to look for images from simple vacation or zoo shots that can be turned into beautiful works of art. The purpose is to open up the mind of the photographer to think outside of the traditional box. As we continue to have little ability to travel to amazing destinations, we can dive into our own archives and find a few images of a subject that can be put together to make one amazing image. Painting techniques will be covered but the focus is on the compositing and the way of thinking. First-time painters will get groundwork and experienced painters will be able to run with this idea. Images will be supplied along with a few custom-designed brushes by Judy.
Judy will be giving away a seat to the Animal Image Makers™ conference ($750 value) to one lucky attendee (must be present to win).

PPA members receive one service merit, the last service merit officially being granted for an online class. The class will be presented live online on December 30, 9 am - 5 pm and a recording of the class will be made available to all registered attendees. $99 for PPA/VPPA members, $129 for non-members
