Truuske and Melvin 🍂 A wedding that will always feel like home in my memories

A week after the hurricane, my partner and I drove up to Vermont to photograph a friend's sister's wedding. Amongst the sadness, I was welcomed in like I was their family. Cared for, given joy and moments of fun while I was grieving. Being wrapped in a circle during swing dancing, come on, there was swing dancing, what more can I say! A fall family reunion bringing families across oceans together 🍂💗

August/September Asheville books open before wedding season picks up 🌼 Discounted sessions 🌼

This year I have been kind of quiet on the photography side, there have been a lot of other work changes and personal things getting in the way. I hope to do some shoots over the next couple of months to get back in the groove of things

If the prices are too high, I always have sliding scale available and am up for talking about a trade!

This was taken at the 3rd wedding I did and it has become one of my favorite shots. it was the bride's idea actually! She wanted to get a shot of her husband getting ready while she was upstairs.

I love all of the lines, all of the shadows. After doing this for years I yearn to get back to these creative collaborative moments.

This year I will come back to slowing down, listening to the moments and be intentional with each shot.

Cozy family sessions are the way to go in my mind. There is a level of relaxation and trust that comes with having someone you've only communicated with over email in your space or where you are staying. It can be hard to let someone photograph your family,and I focus on blending in, getting to know your family and not direct.
