Hennessee Photographic Seeking to find beautiful ways to hit the pause button on the ever-ceasing element of time. As often as possible, I do pro bono work on these occasions.

In my pursuit of making a positive difference in the world around me, I am always on the look out for ways to use the art of photography for good causes. In addition to the above, I enjoy doing portrait work. I would love to expand my experience and horizons into new areas of photography as I also continue to grow my family. My husband and I will welcome our first little one into the world in Augu

st 2014 at which time I have already been explaining to this little guy that he's going to have to learn to get used to having a very well-documented childhood. :-)

If you have an event or just want some memorable moments captured in a beautiful way, let's see if I can help you in achieving that goal.

Let’s talk mission. Life’s purpose. That thing you want to be the mountain you move to leave your mark. Ecce Photograpy is the heart of what I want to do with my love of this art form.

How can photography help you do it faster? Let’s talk!

Beautiful mama Lourdes, and her sweet wee one Kentrell, were so much fun to snag some shots of last week! I did some maternity portraits of Lourdes about a year ago and it's always so special to get a glimpse of that bump I photographed once we can get a look at it's incredible face, chubby thighs and personality!

It's October in the mountains. Mornings are arriving with a new crisp chill, pumpkin spice everything is everywhere, and we bring some of the most wonderful outdoor seasons to a close with nature's fireworks display. I have a few days available this month and would love to see if I can squeeze in another session or two for some fall family fun!

Beyond family portraits, I'm also looking to see what kind of projects may be out there that I can generate to do some good in the world with photography. See this "What's Next" blog entry on my website to learn more about the causes I'm most passionate about and send me your ideas! Plenty of other portrait work out there in the "Images" section.

Friends, here is where I hope for the stars to align, for lightening to strike. This is the moment where the energy spent to craft this website aligns with the needs of my community. Those of you reading this may have ideas on projects that could benefit from low cost photography services. If you fe...

I know, I know. Advent is about waiting for Jesus. The day the ONE enters the world who is to save it in the least expected way possible. And yes, we Catholics are accused of Mary worship... but as a convert I feel my excuse in spending so much time thinking about her is that I’m making up for lost time. Lent and Easter are easier seasons for me to meditate on Jesus bc I can relate to a 30 year old more easily than the newborn this holiday is founded on.

But COME ON. How is Mary’s (and Joseph’s for the matter) experience not the more fascinating one to consider? Were I not a female and a mother, I may not be as enamored by it - her fear, her faithfulness in the midst of fear, that’s it really. She recognized her fear wasn’t serving her. Her fear would take her to a place further away from her calling. Fear is confusing. Fear is helpful in some ways and counter productive in so many other ways, especially when it comes to faith. Perhaps having something to do with just how broken this world has become. Our evolutionary instincts now often are what keeps us from pursuing the kind of follower we are asked to be. But fear is a conditioned response in addition to one we are born to feel when danger is perceived. The world conditions our beliefs on what is dangerous. This world teaches us to fear poverty. The world teaches us to fear social rejection. The world teaches us to fear physical danger. It’s all these risks that often appear when we’re asked to be God at work in the world.

So this year’s nativity has “Mary the Giant” looming in the background. With her hands clasped close to her heart, and a fond expression as she looks down on that manger scene. This was not intentional, but made me laugh at first and then made me ponder after that... so I’m keeping it this way.

I hope something makes you ponder this advent.

Some “yes’s” are just more beautiful than others. I don’t mean pregnancies, I mean the “yes” that it flows out of. This one was an honor to capture. Thank you, Lola.

I sat down last night to work away at a few more edits and found myself falling more and more in love with these shots I took two weeks ago of the McAbee fam. The more I scoured the 900 I started with, the vortex widened and 3 hours later, at 12:30am, I looked up to check the time and realized was done, tired and so happy! I’m so excited to feel back in the swing of my photography love.

Thanks, Xylina and fam for the chance to snag these for you!! 🥰
