A tea party wedding ā˜•ļøšŸ°šŸ«–
It was so charming!
The reception details were brought to life by teapots found by the bride’s mother and styled to look like they are gently pouring themselves. A thoughtful mix of whimsy, family, and intentional celebration.

What’s your must have wedding dessert:
macarons, cookies, cupcakes, or cake?

First dances and reception moments move fast, but they hold some of the most genuine emotion of the day. The best tip is to make space for them, slow down, stay present, and don’t worry about perfection. The in between laughs, teary eyes, and unplanned moments are what end up meaning the most.

Tiny wedding opinion from a photographer:
first looks are not ā€œless special.ā€

You still get the aisle moment.
You still get emotional during the ceremony.
You just also get a quiet moment together before the day starts flying by.
Most couples say it helped calm their nerves and made the day feel more present.

Private first look or traditional aisle reveal?

Couples portraits are one of my favorite parts of a wedding day because it’s usually the first moment the two of you actually get to slow down together. ā¤ļø

The ceremony is over, the nerves are gone, and it finally starts to feel real. Some of the sweetest, most genuine moments happen during these little in-between pockets of the day, and they almost always end up being some of the most meaningful photos later on.

Oh my God guys, this one had me tearing up behind the camera.

In this beautiful 1930s home at Seven Maples in Brevard, the morning was already full of so much love. The bride was getting ready with her mom right there beside her, helping her into every detail, and then her son walked in and gave her the biggest, sweetest hug before the ceremony.

It was one of those moments that just stops you for a second. So simple, so pure, and so full of love.

One of the best decisions for an outdoor ceremony is choosing a location that already feels beautiful on its own. When the space has character, you need less dƩcor, less stress, and everything feels more effortless.
The right outdoor setting does so much of the work for you, so you can focus on the moments instead of building the scene around them. 🌱

Ending their session with cake made this feel even more personal… because mom actually made it herself šŸ¤©šŸŽ‚

This was her practice run before making her own wedding cake, which is honestly the coolest detail. Not only did they plan a wedding, they poured themselves into every part of it.

Safe to say the practice paid off, because the final wedding cake turned out amazing and I’ll be sharing those photos on here soonā€¦šŸ‘€

From wrangling kids to quiet moments like this.

That’s what I love about sessions like these. You get the full story. The fun, the chaos, and then those small, calm moments where it’s just the two of you again.

This was from their engagement session before their November wedding, and it captures such a special season for them. ā¤ļøšŸ’

One of my favorite things about shooting in the mountains is how simple it can be.

This spot? Just pulled off along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
No long hike, no complicated setup. Just good light, open views, and catching that moment when the sun starts to drop.

Sometimes it’s less about the location itself and more about making the most of what’s already there ā¤ļø

šŸ“ššŸŒ· Spring School Photos, Done Differently

Like many parents, I recently learned that school photos through Lifetouch are connected to a parent company that has raised serious concerns. After looking into it myself, I’ve decided I won’t be using them for my own children’s spring and fall photos moving forward.

Instead, I’ll be taking their school portraits myself… and I’d love to offer the same option to other local families who feel the same way.

✨ Spring School Photo Mini Packages
• $50 ($40 for each additional sibling)
• 3 professionally hand-edited images
• Online gallery delivery
• Print release included
• Option to purchase additional images

You are welcome to print anywhere you choose. If you prefer not to use Shutterfly, I also work with a professional print lab and can guide you through ordering high-quality prints.

These will be simple, classic, personality-focused portraits. Think clean backgrounds, natural expressions, and images that actually look like your child. I will be offering these in Black Mountain, NC & Marion, NC until April 30th.

If you’re interested in reserving a spot, send me a message and I’ll send over the details šŸ’›

Let’s make school photos feel safe again.
