The First Presbyterian Church in Milledgeville GA was established in 1826.

The current building was dedicated in 1906. The cornerstone was brought from Scotland.

The architecture features a bell tower and arched wooden door.

This is the Old Governor's Mansion in Milledgeville, GA .

It was built on the highest point in the city and in the style of High Greek Revival architecture.

It was the state governor's residence from 1939 until 1868.

It is now used as a museum.

This is the gate to Georgia Military College. It stands where a historic antebellum gate stood in the 19th Century.

The school is on land where the Georgia State Capitol was located from 1807-1868.

The school was established in 1879.

Miller’s Bistro

This restaurant is on the square in Washington GA. According to the sign on the building, it was built in 1891.

I do not know the history of the building, but the restaurant opened in 1952.

I went there for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the staff and the atmosphere.

Does anyone know anything about the history of the building? I would love to find out.

Busy Bee Cafe

This marker shows an original opening date of 1918, I also found some history showing the date as 1912.

It was a Greek restaurant with a lot of history and ownership changes and it moved around the corner.

It operated for many years.

Here is the next installment of small town black and white note cards.

I had never been to downtown Eatonton, Georgia, even though I had lived in Milledgeville, GA for 24 years.

It is such a cute, little town with so much to offer. There is a little art gallery on the square.

The town is filled with beautiful, historic houses.

The Fitzpatrick Hotel was built in the Queen Anne style in 1898 on the square in Washington Ga by two brothers.

It was one of the few places with electricity, running water, and an elevator.

A group of MIT scientists stayed there to observe the solar eclipse of May 28, 1900.

The hotel was closed in 1952.

It reopened in 2004 after being closed for 50 years.
