Snippets from Hollowpalooza πŸ§‘πŸ’™πŸ’œ

For those who don't know, located in a hollowed-out soccer field commonly referenced as "The Hollow," Hollowpalooza is a Lollapalooza-inspired event where campers, staff, and visitors step on stage to perform songs of their choice for the entire campus. Some performed karaoke style, and others used instruments. Both options brought quite some talent to the stage that night.

This shoot was probably the most difficult for me as it started around 3PM and ended at about 10:30PM. Though the night was long, however, these turned out to be some of my favorite shots from the entire time I was at camp. I hope that next year I have the courage to perform something.

Stay tuned for more Hollowpalooza moments!

I think I've taken over 20K photos this summer so believe me when I say that I'll be dropping gems for a GOOD while lol. Keep them eyes peeled folks!

Kenwood and Evergreen, you've won my heart πŸ”₯ This summer could not have been any better than it has. I've made some awesome friends, I've met so many cool and adventurous folks, I've interacted with the curious minds of some silly campers, dabbled in a bit of summer romance, and explored the beautiful scenery of this place in the middle of nowhere in New Hampshire.

In the span of 2 months (which felt like a lifetime at this camp), my confidence grew, my optimism expanded, my skills as a photographer skyrocketed, and my excitement for more adventures is EXTREMELY palpable.

Shout-out to our photo boss Elliott Smelliott for putting together such a passionate and hearty media team. Caleb, Lucy, Olivia, Greg (honorable mention), and our adopted child Nicole (honorable mention), thank you for being the best coworkers/friends. I've been granted an experience that not many can attest to. I look forward to next year's return β˜€οΈ

A little exercise I did to strengthen my understanding of color theory and experiment with hues.

Basically, I put a greyscale filter over my laptop display so when I went into Photoshop, I couldn't guess which colors I used in the drawing. Consider it a color roulette! And it turned out pretty cool! I'll definitely be posting more of these exercises in the near future because it was so darn fun to do! I hope y'all can see the vision here while also enjoying a snippet of a song from one of my favorite hip-hop albums of all time.

Ciao for now 🍎

GUYSSSS AAHHHHH MY SUBMISSION FOR THE UNDERGROUND ATL JOURNAL WAS ACCEPTED AND FEATURED IN THE NEW ISSUEEEE AAHHH

My piece titled "High at the High" is a photo taken during last year's Juneteenth Celebration at the High Museum. Essentially, I wanted to highlight the importance of black joy as a form of resistance. Y'all I get so tired of seeing us constantly being depicted in pain or struggling with something as though that's the only life we live. Like many cultures, OURS IS MULTIFACETED. We are everything we want to be, and it most importantly shows in how we celebrate each other! Let's keep doing that! No matter the sexuality, gender identity, social class, religion, nationality, hair color, favorite music, favorite food, or any other path you walk, true love shows in how we celebrate our uniqueness as a people. We are better UNIFIED.

Thank you so much for accepting my work, and a much BIGGER thank you to my friends and family that have shown and continue to show their support for my self-expression πŸ«ΆπŸΎπŸ’• I can't wait to share more moments like this :)
