Why do I photograph newborns at home?

As an Atlanta newborn photographer, I love creating images that capture not only what your baby looked like, but what this season of life felt like. One of the most stressful parts of planning newborn photos? Picking outfits.
Between postpartum recovery, figuring out what still fits, dressing siblings, coordinating colors without looking too “matchy,” and trying to make everyone comfortable… it can quickly feel overwhelming.
I want my families to know you do not have to figure it all out on your own.
Whether you are deciding between two dresses, unsure what photographs best in your home, struggling to find something for baby, or simply want reassurance that your outfits feel like you — I am here to help guide you through it.
My goal is never for you to look overly styled or uncomfortable. I want you to feel confident, relaxed, and genuinely yourselves when you look back at these photos years from now.

Some families come to me after already having their newborn photos taken… but realizing something still felt missing.
This sweet family had done the posed newborn session already, but after seeing my work shared by a friend, they reached out because they realized they wanted more than perfectly posed photos. They wanted the real moments.
The memories of being together in their home. The way their children looked at them. The silly moments, the quiet moments, the little tantrums, the chaos, the love — all of it.
Because at the end of the day, these are the images that mean the most. The ones that bring you back to this season of life exactly as it was.
Your home where your babies grew up.
Your family just being you.
And that’s exactly why I love what I do.

Fresh 48 or newborn session… which should you choose?
Honestly—both are incredibly special.
Fresh 48 captures those first raw hours in the hospital:
the tiny swaddles, hospital bracelets, first sibling meetings, and all the emotions of finally meeting your baby.
Newborn sessions capture life once you’re home:
the nursery, sleepy snuggles on the couch, and settling into your new rhythm as a family.
Neither is better—they simply tell different parts of your story.

There is something so special about being invited back to photograph a growing family.
It feels like just yesterday I was in this Grant Park home documenting their first baby girl, and now I had the honor of capturing their second sweet daughter’s newborn session. Watching big sister step into her new role with so much love and pride was the sweetest part.
These two girls look so much alike, it honestly felt like I was having little flashbacks to our first session together.
This is why I love in-home newborn photography so much—real moments, cozy spaces, and the beautiful chaos of welcoming a new baby home.
I’m so grateful to families who trust me to preserve these memories again and again.
