My 2nd grade have been working on a book project based on the books “What the Dinosaurs Did Last Night” and “Whatcthe Dinosaurs Did AT School” by Refe and Susan Tuma. We switched it up a bit and created “What The Animals Did At Drew.” This is an excellent social and emotional learning project that incorporates my favorite thing in the whole wide world PHOTOGRAPHY! The students had to come up with mischievous scenarios with the animaks, then photograph them. I love the part where the animals get the water bottles from lost and found then take a bath! I’m the end, the animals wrote apology notes to the teachers. So stinkin cute!

My favorite art last week wasn’t a photo. I gave my 2nd grade early finishers some eyeball stickers, a blank piece of paper and markers and instructed them to create “something.” Most of my students made faces, some made spiders but my very favorite was this picture of “two ghosts” 👻 👻😂

I have a student that I am trying to connect with. He LOVES Ja Morant, a basketball dude that plays for the Memphis Grizzlies (this is 100% more than I knew about basketball before last week). I like to have fun with this kiddo so tomorrow I’m going to tell him Ja and I hung out this weekend. Lol
