One thing I've learned after photographing so many couples is that the best sessions don't always start with perfect conditions.
Anna Claire and Caden's engagement session was actually our second attempt after weeks of nonstop rain forced us to reschedule. Then, on my drive to Athens, I found myself driving straight into another storm! đ
But the moment I arrived, the rain held off just long enough for us to explore the gardens and capture so many beautiful moments outdoors before moving into the conservatory as the showers rolled in.
One of my favorite parts of this session wasn't the weather. It was the trust.
They trusted me when I suggested changing plans. They trusted me when I said, "Let's take advantage of this while we can." And because I'd photographed a wedding here before, I already had a game plan for both the outdoor spaces and the conservatory.
That trust is what allowed them to relax, enjoy each other, and simply be present.
To every couple worried that rain, clouds, or unexpected changes will ruin your photos... I promise they won't. Some of my favorite galleries have come from days that didn't go according to plan!
Anna Claire and Caden, thank you for embracing every change with so much joy. I already know your wedding day is going to be just as beautiful. đ¤
If there's one thing I hope every couple takes away from their engagement session, it's this:
You don't have to know how to pose.
You don't have to be "good" in front of a camera.
You don't have to worry about doing everything perfectly.
My goal is for you to leave saying exactly what so many of my couples do:
"That was actually... really fun."
Because when you're relaxed, connected, and simply enjoying each other, that's when the magic happens.
