We recently completed another film - Spray Bottle - that we can’t wait to share with the world. But it all started with the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge! 🤍
As we look back on our 10 years of impact, we want to spotlight Jenna Kanell a filmmaker who participated and won with her 2015 EDFC film BUMBLEBEES.
She says, “The Disability Film Challenge pushed me to write and direct for the first time, after years working as an actor and stunt performer. It was a joy to work alongside my disabled brother, in his first time on camera. After we had the honor of winning the EDFC, the short ended up playing at over forty film festivals and events all over the world, winning a handful of other awards, and leading my brother and I to speak about neurodivergence in media at institutions such as Harvard Medical School. It was also the inspiration for my TEDx Talk.” (watch Jenna’s Tedx Talk and BUMBLEBEES here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm-7_wAz8yM )
