👀WTF?! Marvel has quietly updated one of the most talked-about displays at the Avengers: Doomsday booth during San Diego Comic-Con.

The "Latverian Witch" costume, which originally featured a darker color palette reminiscent of Doctor Doom's robes, has now been changed to brown.

The change has led some fans to speculate that the original design may have unintentionally suggested a single, specific character. The updated look feels much more like a standard uniform, potentially indicating that these are multiple witches from Latveria rather than one central figure tied directly to Doom.

That would still fit neatly within Doctor Doom's mythology. Magic has always played a major role in his story through his mother, Cynthia Von Doom, and Victor's own mastery of the mystic arts.

Whether this was always the intended design or Marvel simply refined the display, the change has only fueled more speculation about how deeply Avengers: Doomsday will explore Latveria's magical history.

an interesting study

A team of psychologists from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan published a study with one of the more unusual experimental setups in recent memory. They wanted to know whether an unexpected event could make people kinder. So they sent Batman into the subway.

The experiment was simple. A female researcher wearing a prosthetic belly to appear pregnant boarded a Milan metro car. An observer quietly recorded how many seated passengers offered her their seat. That was the control condition.
In the experimental condition, the same pregnant woman boarded the train. But this time, as she entered from one door, a second researcher dressed in a full Batman costume, cape, cowl, and the iconic logo, entered from another door on the opposite end of the car.

The results were striking. Without Batman, 37% of passengers offered the pregnant woman their seat. With Batman present, that number jumped to 67%, nearly double. The likelihood of someone helping was more than three times higher when the caped crusader was on board.

But the strangest finding was still to come. When researchers asked the passengers who had offered their seats whether they had noticed Batman, 44% of them said they hadn't. They became kinder without even being aware of what had changed.

The researchers believe the explanation lies in mindfulness. An unexpected sight, like a man in a Batman costume on a Tuesday morning commute, jolts people out of autopilot. It forces them into the present moment, and in that brief window of heightened awareness, they are more likely to notice others around them and act on it.

In other words, Batman didn't inspire people to be heroes. He just woke them up long enough to be decent.
