This Anne Hathaway quote has been stuck in my head all week.

It’s such a good way to put it: you can enjoy the reason you’re tired, knowing it isn’t going to be this way forever.

I feel that way with business right now.

I can say yes to a lot because I have so much freedom with my time right now & because I know it won’t be this way forever.

So I’m just enjoying it as much as I can and learning from it all along the way!

Anyone else feel like you’re so proud of the reason you’re tired?

Why do you hire an expert?
1. You want to get somewhere faster than you can on your own.
2. You want to avoid mistakes that’ll cost you more down the road.
3. You want knowledge you don’t currently have.

That’s why I hired a golf coach.

My swing is fine, but not consistently getting me the results I want.

Your brand is probably the same way. It’s fine, but it’s not consistently getting you the results you want.

You could keep getting by the way you’ve been doing things, or you could thrive with a few tips that only someone on the outside can give to you.

Hire the expert.

Trust the process.

You can take something unexpected or misunderstood about your industry + turn it into great content.

People are sharing this one because they feel seen, heard, understood.

Lastly, think about the things people assume are normal in your industry + ask yourself if they need to be challenged.

That’s how you become a leader in your industry, and it’s more fun to have original thoughts than to post what chat tells you (and everyone else) to, amen?!

I made this carousel in about 20 minutes on my phone because:

1. I wanted to share something today that I’ve been thinking about.

2. I need you to believe me when I say content doesn’t have to be that serious.

3. It’s always worth teaching you that growing your personal brand is the best way to have people who cannot WAIT to work with you!

I got interrupted filming this but here’s how I’d wrap up these thoughts:

I’m posting this mostly unedited because the point is just putting your thoughts out there, not perfection. It took me about 2 minutes to edit.

So many of us are held back by the idea that everything has to be perfect, so much so that we never share anything at all.

But what if the goal wasn’t ever that we’d play a game with no mistakes, but that we’d get out there, make an impact, & maybe come home with a great win?

Kirby’s brilliant for telling the guys that, and I want you to remember it with business too. Even without the win, they would’ve made an impact.

Like I’ve learned from Macy McNeely | Sales Training for Female Founders, putting in the reps is what grows you. You’re not going to beat Alabama if you never put in the ugly first reps, second reps, third reps.

You just get better the longer you do the same thing over & over. Hold the outcome loosely & just start putting in the reps with your content.

(And go dawgs, of course.)

Repetition gives you confidence. It doesn’t just appear out of thin air.

It comes from repeated actions over time.

From proving to yourself you can improve & learn how to do new things.

I sometimes get asked if I run my own social media, and the answer is yes, it’s just me over here!

So how do I do it?

The same way I got used to performing in front of 93,000 people with UGA Flagline.

Repeated actions over time.

Recording videos of yourself talking to the camera gets easier when you used to perform on live TV.

It also gets easier when you’ve been writing captions for 11 years.

My old posts embarrass me but I’m also so proud of the old me for trying. That’s how we got to be here today.

Next time you feel anxious when you go to hit record, remember that every rep grows you.
