When I enrolled in a basic black and white photo class in college, I was hooked. I loved the creative freedom of capturing beautiful images with a camera. While finishing my degree in architecture, I took every photography class North Carolina State offered. Moving toward a career with a camera, I attended graduate school at Ohio University to study photojournalism. While I worked as a newspaper p

hotographer for several years, I dreamt of running my own business. I continued to work as a photographer for over a decade, but I was always “working for the man.” It wasn’t until my husband and I adopted our son Sebastian that I made a break from corporate life to pursue my freelance photography full time. Since the inception of my business, I’ve documented many important steps in a family’s life… weddings, pregnancies, first birthdays, mitzvahs, graduations, marriage proposals and reunions. Helping my clients feel beautiful and strong through photography is an experience I hope to continue through the rest of my career.

Super star. 😻 Yesterday, I had a special visitor in the studio. Moire Rose dropped by for a quick portrait with her owner, Lisa. Will Moira Rose’s photo be featured on Lisa’s new business website? Maybe?! Thanks to my hubby for being the can toy dancer for this shot.

Digital swaps. 💻 For consistency on big jobs, I recommend digital background swaps. I photographed this background in the company's lobby during a break in headshots. Now they have a custom background for all of their Atlanta headshot sessions.

Standing out in a crowd. 🏆 Miles brought this fantastic tan suit to his session, so we tried two different backgrounds. I love the first one best! Which do you prefer?

Fun raising! 🥰 Our mini session fundraiser in July was a big hit! Everyone got a couple of headshots and some participants even brought props. My favorites were the luchador masks! We raised $1000 for KUCC's outreach ministries.
