Fall and Holiday photo planning time is here. Unfortunately far too often, fall and holiday pictures end up being an after thought and most people find themselves scrambling at the last minute to book a photography session to meet holiday timelines. But guess what? It’s never too early to start planning. All that is needed is a vision, budget, and execution….

Spring means more sunshine, flowers in bloom, and sweet spring kisses from our favorite people (especially the little ones 😊).

It’s also a good time to plan out door shoots. Why? Glad you asked. The weather is pleasant, the days are longer, and you can add beautiful pops of color to your wardrobe and setting.

Have you ever stopped and thought about why you won’t have pictures professionally shot by a photographer? I mean really, we live in a day and age where representation matters, even in your own household.

If you find it just too hard to fathom that professional family or milestone portraits matter or you consider it a little “over the top”, think again. You really are missing out on an opportunity to contribute to your time capsule. An opportunity to reflect on who you are, who you’ve become, and moments you and your children can look back on with nostalgia and admiration. So who’s ready?

I didn’t realize that I actually wanted prints of my images.

Understanding how your images will be provided at the end of photoshoot is an important detail to discuss with your photographer prior to discussing wardrobe ideas..

So make sure to have an idea on how you will be using your images as you shop around for a photographer.

My how time flies, especially when you have a something special coming up, but you still haven’t started planning for your photo session. YIKES!

It’s best to start thinking about and planning your photo sessions 3-4 months prior to when you actually want or need the pictures. This give allows time for photographer shipping and wardrobe shopping. 😬

For me, inspiration comes with a rested mind….⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
…and the Fall and Holiday season means: weather changes, fashion changes, new recipes to try (*I mean eat), extra emphasis on family QT, a plethora of sports to watch on TV, great TV shows, travel, and various efforts to close out year end goals. All =ing: fatigue😣.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And that’s where I usually find myself. Fatigued. So because I know this, I decided to do something different. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I yielded to the pressure of trying to stay on top of everything —> focused on not being so hard on myself—> enjoy the things I love as they come during this season —> and ultimately resting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And guess what? It’s been great. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Resting has allowed me time:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- for my “inspiration tank” to fill back up by,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- to genuinely take in what’s present around me and,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- to be more intentional about being in relation with my family and friends.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All it takes is a call, a text, a good laugh, or the sending of words of encouragement to be reminded that rest, relation, and inspiration are interconnected for me, and taking time to enjoy those I am connected with, is what really inspires me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
