This is a project that I was very excited for. I am a veteran myself, but I also have a ton of respect for the veterans that spend a lot of their time providing services to this community. This event was even more special because a young man that I have really enjoyed knowing as he grew up had just graduated the Naval Academy and was commissioned 2nd Lt in the U.S. Marine Corps. His grandfather was in the color guard, he assisted the color guard, and his cousin sang the national anthem.
