As I am reading Genesis chapter 29 about the story of Jacob and his two wives, Rachel and Leah. I am heartbroken for Leah, she is so unloved by Jacob. She tries so hard to get him to notice her by giving him children. Each one she thinks will be the one that will make Jacob love her but she doesn’t see that there is one who is loving her through it all. Finally on her 4th son she lifts up her eyes and praises God..she says “ now I will praise the Lord” her worth is changed, as she doesn’t try to please Jacob any more but goes to the father. The thing is he was there all along, he was loving her. he saw her pain and gave her children to comfort her. He was there!
This is a reminder for us all..if we ever feel unloved or unseen we are not! God sees us and knows us by name and he loves each and everyone of us..our worth is in him, not man.
The best part is the child she praised God with, is the child whose lineage Jesus comes from! Hallelujah!! Amazing!
