Talk about side-eye!! 👀

This jerk-face is my LEAST favorite animal on the farm. We thought it was a hen when hatched, but he's grown up to prove us wrong. I won't admit to his name in writing, but it suits him just fine. He's on his second strike with flogging me as I collect eggs. One more and he's going to the fryer. 🍗

We lost her this winter, and I still miss her. She was the kind of chicken who made you forget she was a chicken — she let me snuggle her, brush her fluffy feathers, and tuck her into my hoodie like I was her personal chauffeur service. A blue-skinned Silkie name Presley (as in Elvis' Blue Christmas.)
