She is their whole world. Her arms are the safest place. Her laugh is the best sound they have ever heard.

Hi, I’m Ann. 🐸 And yes, that is a frog on my head.

He has been on almost every family session I have shot for years. I jump, I spin, I do whatever it takes to get him to fall off, and kids think it is the funniest thing they have ever seen. Some of the kids I photograph now have grown up knowing the frog and ask for him before we even start shooting.

A few other things you should probably know about me:

I am barefoot every chance I get.
Dragonflies are my thing.
Ice cream is non-negotiable.
I cook for friends & family like it is a sport.
I am a nerf war survivor.

I was not always a photographer. In 2007 I was on a pre-med track studying neurobiology when life made me take a hard turn. Two days into my first photography class I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I may have taken 10 classes in my first semester.

What I love most is helping people see the beauty in themselves that the rest of the world already sees. Families who think they are not photogenic. Seniors who are nervous in front of the camera. Business owners who have been putting it off. That is exactly the person I want to work with.

I am based in Auburn and travel to the Palm Springs area several times a year.

Senior assassin had just started. Which meant she showed up to her session completely phone-free so nobody could track her down. 😂

Honestly…Best decision ever. No distractions, just her, the wildflowers, and the most golden light.

I have been photographing this family since she was 9 years old. Nine. And somehow here we are. A graduation cap that says everything about who she has become and a session we will never forget.

This is the part of my job that stops me in my tracks. Watching a little girl grow up through the lens over the years, and then getting to capture this moment. The one right before everything changes.

The irises in bloom, the golden light through the oaks, and that little laugh that you just cannot fake. This is exactly why spring is my favorite time of year to photograph families.
