A little love for the grooms 🀍

Being in front of the camera isn’t every man’s favorite thing, and I completely get that. I’ve found that having fun with it, getting to know their personality, and giving them room to trust me usually leads to some of my favorite photographs. I care so much about creating art for them too, both while I’m shooting and later when I’m curating the final gallery.

And a little shoutout to all the grooms featured here! I had hundreds of photographs I could share because you have all been so much fun to photograph.

Such a fun surprise to see the Morrises’ wedding featured in Carats & Cake | The Wedding Source 🀍

They chose to host their celebration at the stunning William Aiken House in downtown Charleston with mariachi in the garden (easily my favorite) and ended with an iconic bike taxi send off!

After years of photographing weddings, these are 10 values I carry into every wedding weekend.

Wedding weekends hold thousands of moving pieces. Months of planning, incredible fashion and design, guests traveling from all over the world, and a team of talented people working together to create something that only exists for a few days. Being trusted to document all of it is something I take incredibly seriously! So much of my job is anticipating what is coming and recognizing what deserves to be remembered.

There are so many things I care about that could never fit into such a small list. Caring well for my team and the vendors who have poured so much into your weekend, shooting film, artistry, and making sure the experience of being photographed feels thoughtful and seamless. These are simply a few of the things that are always at the forefront of my mind when I pick up a camera.

At the end of it all, I aim to give you the photographs you dreamed of, alongside the ones you never even knew to ask for.

Lately I’ve been loving simpler detail shots. Sometimes highlighting a few meaningful pieces helps showcase the textures and craftsmanship.

If time allows, I will walk the property before the wedding. It gives me a chance to take in the architecture, study the light, and photograph the space before it is filled with celebration. This villa felt made for black and white!

A few quiet minutes together with the bride & groom exploring the expansive property.

Bright, colorful florals against a backdrop of greenery is always a combination I’ll gravitate toward.

The simplicity of the tablescape in such an ornate room was one of my favorite design choices. It let the fresco paintings and architecture have their moment.

Live music always adds so much to a wedding day. It’s one of those details that completely changes the atmosphere!

Bringing a couple back into their ceremony space after the vows is always one of my favorite moments. Before the flowers are packed away and the chairs disappear, they get one last chance to soak it all in together.

A statement seating chart is always one of my favorite details.

Loved using the tilt shift here because it naturally draws your eye straight to the joy on the bride’s face. One of those fleeting moments filled with so much anticipation before seeing her soon to be husband waiting at the end of the aisle.

The food displays leaned so beautifully into classic Italian cuisine.

Always looking for little pieces around a venue that add character to an image. This vase tucked away in one of the rooms felt like it was just waiting for the bouquet.
