Hi,
My name is Tess Walker — formerly Tess Thomson. I am the owner of Tess Thomson Photography. And it’s been a hot minute since I’ve shown my face and introduced myself.
I am 30 years old, a true Ta**us, through and through— passionate, stubborn, loud and always tired. Some people will call me pessimistic but I find purpose in the truth and sometimes, the truth isn’t happy. Although a realist, I do believe in the power of speaking life into your thoughts, knowing GOD has it already written. I’ve always got a sarcastic comment or witty gif on go. I am a teacher of littles— think, sticky hands, learning to read, tears over lost pencils and challenges over every instruction, so— kindergarten. I love animals and if my husband would allow it, I would collect all the strays and be their Mama. Speaking of, I met my husband when I was 15 years old, though he didn’t notice ME until long after that. We have two beautiful (and I don’t say that humbly) little boys, who are wild, loud, mighty and commanding of the room they set foot in.
I am fiercely loyal to my friends and family. I am dreadful of any change. I love to read. I am forced to be outside thanks to my children. I could sleep in until it is time to sleep again.
I love raw, authentic photos that are taken in the midst of chaos. I love a photo that tells a story— that we can hang on the wall and feel the moment— hear the sound of the littles laughing, smell the fresh rain on the ground or flowers in the field, feel the sun beating down on us and our frustration that it’s still “so hot at 8pm”. I love a color coordinating palette— not too matchy but also, please no plaid. I empathize with the Mama who just wants everyone to sit still and apologizes 100 times for their wild toddler. But, I say this with ten toes down— your family is why I got into photography. Trust me, if you think your crazy parade is something I can’t handle, I promise I captured like at least 20 photos of just how beautiful your family & life truly is. Yes, even with you shoving puffs in little Jimmy hands so he won’t run away…again. This season isn’t forever, so make it a fun family date & leave the stress at home— bring the bubbles, the ice cream, the tickles and stuffies. Just be you, let your littles be them (and pretend your husband is enjoying himself) and let ME capture this season in all of its glory. I can’t wait!
It is so nice to meet you & I hope you’ll stay for a while.
