This opportunity came from a good friend of mine
She introduced me to the team over at . They were working direct to client on a new campaign for a local hearing aid company.
Trying to capture stills on a commercial set can be tricky, but with great communication and the talented crew of Cody Ground (Director), Scott Hamilton (Producer) and Kyle Cockayne (DP) it was a flawless shoot.

Here is another look at some stock photography from this past year.
Shooting during a pandemic means recruiting friends in your 'circle of trust' as models.
These images were shot in a friends home & I am very pleased with the end result!

Grateful for those who constantly support this business of mine.
It takes a village.

As an Austin based photographer it was a pleasure getting to work with this year! We really wanted to capture their brand, so we shot in one of their locations - while they were open. We couldn't have pulled this off without the help of their amazing staff working to not only to help us out, but doing so while serving customers that were dining around us.

From the restaurant we went straight to the Chuy's test kitchen to showcase their to-go kits. This involved setting up a mini picnic in their courtyard, and a faux kitchen backdrop. Very pleased with the way this one came together.
Huge thank you to the team for bringing me on this one!

This past year everything has been different.

Typically, our shoots consist of large group workouts in the park, high fives, and team huddles.
When that was no longer an option their team did not hesitate to find a way to continue showing up for their community. They developed virtual workouts to keep people going!

Here are some shots from our at home sessions over the past year. It is amazing seeing what they have been able to accomplish when thrown a curveball. You can guarantee even at home they always bring the energy!

One year ago I shot my first production during a pandemic.

The shoot was for the Upspring team. It is the hope of every photographer to grow along with their client, and this was our third shoot together over 18 months. For the shoot we implemented the best practices we had available to us at the time. Masks were worn by all crew at all times, and we staggered the arrival of talent (one talent group in - one talent group out), so we didn’t have people standing around.

We worked with real families who were already quarantining together, and had temp checks before entering the production.
My wife was even brought on set as talent to limit outside exposure. On our end it was important to have a very small footprint. We brought on one assistant , one grip / cam operator , and myself. We had one client on-site, set up at a distance with an ipad mirroring my camera.

As one of our first covid productions it had its obstacles, but gave us confidence we could navigate the rest of 2020 safely. I am thankful for all of my clients who have allowed me to continue creating through this past year.

Back in December I was given the opportunity to shoot for a new stock site. It was a word of mouth referral through a fellow friend in the photography community.

Getting this job in December allowed me to finish the year on a high note & create work I could use for my portfolio. We had a lot of creative freedom here to shoot what we wanted.

To ensure we stayed within budget, we reached out to friends to help bring this shoot together.
We had baristas from our favorite shop stand in as models, and a friend of mine let me rent his space for a few hours. Shelby’s camper and pup were really the cherry on top of capturing something great.

It’s incredible what can come from collaborating with others in your network.

Innovation & pivoting were vital this year.

I credit my success to bringing a variety of skill sets to the table. I would say the same is true about & - This duo managed to propel themselves into the virtual world while bringing the award winning cuisine of with them.

They created a new way to experience restaurant dining without having to leave your own home - .ly based in Austin, TX.

I had the fortune of showcasing all that I can offer for this client. We captured lifestyle, still images, branding videos, and helped highlight their vision.

While shooting at comedor we set up 4+ “mini sets” which really pushed our innovation to the limit. One set was for flatlays of each box they offer, two sets fit tabletop images of completed dishes (courtesy of .g.o.go), a set near the kitchen for team headshots, and the bar top to highlight drinks. *BTS pictured above*

The opportunity to work alongside this team as they grow has been incredible. Follow their journey .ly

Real People / Real Heroes / Teachers...

2020 was a wild year - to say the least. While life seemed to be put on hold, so was my work. This shoot was postponed three times due to covid. It was during this time that we began implementing new systems. Covid screening, and temperature checks were to be completed at every shoot, as well as a mandatory mask mandate while on set.

We brought in HAMU & DIT . I outsourced the clipping path to enable us to swap the color backgrounds easily, creating variety on time.

This year has pushed me to find creative solutions to a “typical shoot” & I am thankful for every client who has helped keep me going into 2021.
