Photographing Cassie at the Capitol hits different when she's planning to study government at the University of Texas in the fall.

I absolutely love helping seniors craft their perfect senior photo aesthetic.

Congratulations Cassie!! 🤘🏻

A lot of people think the seniors in beautiful photos must just be confident people.

But confidence isn’t a personality type.

It’s usually something people discover after their photoshoot... when they finally see themselves differently.

If senior photos are on your mind this year, spring sessions are open.

One thing I’ve noticed about women is that we rarely build our lives in straight lines.

There are detours. Responsibilities. Loss. Kids. Decisions that change everything.

My own path looked something like this... losing my dad when I was a kid, losing my mom years later, becoming a mom myself, starting college later in life, and eventually moving to a big city with a toddler so I could finish my degree at a major university and become the first person in my family to graduate from college.

But through all of it... photography was always there.

It started long before the business existed. It was something creative I kept returning to while life was unfolding around me.

It has since become one of the things I built for myself.

Now I spend my days photographing seniors stepping into adulthood, families in the middle of the beautiful mess of raising kids, and small business owners building things of their own.

Since today is International Women’s Day, this feels like a good moment to give a shoutout to the women building lives, raising families, starting businesses, chasing ideas, and figuring things out as they go.

None of it is simple. But it matters.

And getting to document people as they grow into themselves is still one of the best parts of what I do.

❤️

ALERT! ALERT!

Bluebonnet's are already starting to pop up around Austin. I literally saw some on the side of the highway with my own eyeballs.

If wildflowers are on your senior photo wish list, this is when planning usually begins. Some seniors shoot the spring before senior year, others during senior spring.

Either way, the season moves quickly once it starts. Don't miss your chance for flower season!

Senior Sunday featuring the gorgeous personality of Amiya.

It was such a pleasure getting to know her and photograph a piece of her life and story.

The Cascalenda family is on the blog today!

Amanda told me they wanted candids, running around, cozy snuggles, and nothing that felt overly staged. So during their session, we kept things moving. A few guided prompts, a few “okay everyone in close,” and a lot of following Penn wherever she decided to go next.

Rue made her appearance, of course. We grabbed some solid frames of all four of them, then shifted to just the three of them too. Bright sun, quick transitions, toddler energy fully intact.

It’s a short post, but it captures their life at this stage really well.

The Story

Hi! My name is Jessica (Seay) Martin. My passion for photography is built on memories that tell a story. Your story. Everyone has a unique life full of celebrations and struggles that define them. So although I could say I am a photographer... it’s more than that. I am a storyteller... helping to tell your story one frame at a time. The good and the bad are all worth remembering. If you would like more information or have questions please e-mail me at [email protected]. Feel free to check out my portfolio on my website: www.seayclearly.com
