HAPPY 40TH, LIZETTE 💕📸
If you’ve ever stepped in front of my camera, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Lizette, the calm to my chaos, the organized to my creative, the “wait, did you bring the extra batteries?” to my “OMG I forgot the batteries.” 😅
But Lizette is more than just an integral part of Katia Forero Photography - she’s my sweetest friend. My ride or die.
Lizette, do you remember how we met 7 years ago? It was totally random right? you and Mark, me and my daughter - all seated together at a hibachi table at Sh**un (because, you know, hibachi fate). If you’ve ever done hibachi, you know you end up having dinner with complete strangers, and sometimes those strangers become friends.
I still remember us chatting between onion volcanoes and shrimp tosses, and realizing we both had a deep love for photography. Who knew that lunch would turn into years of friendship, creative magic, and laughing until our stomachs hurt over sessions and photography stories (you know the ones 🤭).
Since then, you’ve become my right-hand woman, my sanity during shoots, my business partner in crime, and a very dear friend.
You are the kindest, most hardworking, most genuine human I know. Together, we’ve built a space where women feel empowered, beautiful, seen and that’s because of our friendship. Your heart shows up in everything we do.
Thank you for always being there, for believing in this dream with me, and for saying “yes” to a friendship that started over fried rice and fate. And also… major shoutout to Mark for being his friendly, chatty self and introducing us, because we know you are to shy to have done it yourself, I owe him big time.
Happy 40th, my friend. I love you to the moon and back, and also, I’m still convinced you’re secretly related to Mariah Carey. Just waiting on the DNA test to confirm. 😘🎤✨
