Twelve years ago, Nicki and Jed shared a chairlift ride at Kirkwood Mountain Resort. Nicki talked Jed’s ear off, gave him an enthusiastic “Okay, bye!”, and hopped off. Jed was completely hooked….Fast forward more than a decade, and they returned to that exact same mountain, high above Lake Tahoe, to say “I do.”

As an adventure wedding photographer, I get to document love in some of the most beautiful places on earth. But this celebration reminded me of an important truth: the most meaningful locations for an adventure wedding aren’t always just about finding the most dramatic or iconic backdrop. They’re about choosing the places that hold your real memories, shape your story, and truly feel like home. For Nicki and Jed, that meant skipping the traditional venues and heading right back to the mountain slopes where their story first began. 🚠❤️

Special shout out to my fellow photographer friend for recommending me for this epic wedding!!!

Thinking about planning your own adventure wedding? Go check out the link in my bio for the full blog post. But, for now, here are a few quick FAQs to get you started:

*What exactly is an adventure wedding?*
It’s an intentional, often non-traditional wedding day focused on outdoor experiences—whether that means hiking, skiing, or celebrating in a remote place that matters to you.

*Can we bring guests?*
Absolutely! You can elope just the two of you, or bring along your closest friends, family, and even your pets (just like Nicki and Jed did!).

* How do we handle the logistics?*
It’s all about planning for the elements, securing the right permits, and finding a photographer who doubles as your adventure guide to map out timelines, trail safety, and lighting.

Through my lens, I get to see a lot of beautiful versions of what family looks like. And if there is one thing photographing so many different stories has taught me, it’s that “fatherhood” isn’t just one thing. It is a million different, beautiful roles. 📸

It’s the biological dads who have been there since day one, the stepdads who stepped in with open arms and whole hearts, the granddads passing down generations of wisdom, and the incredible father figures who chose to show up, mentor, and love unconditionally.

Every single one of these roles leaves an undeniable imprint on a child’s life. Seeing the quiet strength, the fierce protection, and the absolute joy shared between all types of dads and their kids is honestly one of the greatest privileges of my career.

Today, we celebrate all of you. To the dads, the stepdads, the granddads, and the father figures who make the world a little brighter and a lot more secure—Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for every moment you capture in their hearts. 🤍

When someone visits your website or clicks on your LinkedIn profile, your headshot is often the very first impression they get of you. It’s the visual anchor of your personal brand.

Lately, I’ve seen a massive wave of people relying on AI to filter, edit, or entirely generate their professional headshots. And while tech is fascinating, AI-generated photos miss the most crucial element of your business: your genuine humanity.

An algorithm can copy your features, but it can’t capture your warmth, your confidence, or the unique energy you bring to your work. The result? A perfectly polished image that ultimately feels… hollow. In a world full of digital filters, true authenticity is a differentiator.

I absolutely love getting to individualize headshots for my clients. For me, a portrait session isn’t about rigid posing or matching a corporate cookie-cutter mold. It’s about creating a comfortable space where your individual personality can actually come through.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a creative, or a corporate professional, your headshot should look exactly like *you* on your best day—approachable, capable, and completely real.
When was the last time you updated your professional photos? Let’s ditch the AI filters and create something beautifully, authentically you. Drop me a DM or head to the link in my bio to email me and connect for your next headshot. 📸✨

Today is all about celebrating the moms, stepmoms, mother-in-laws, and every mother figure who pours so much love and support into our days. Whether you’re a quiet anchor or the loudest cheerleader, the impact you have is truly immeasurable.

I wanted to give a very special shout-out to my own mom, Barbara (aka Queen). I absolutely love this capture of her and my dad, Dean—there’s just something about the way this picture captures them both….I just adore them so much

To my mom, and to all of you who nurture, guide, and love unconditionally: thank you. Cheers to y’all on your special day.

There is something truly transformative about stepping into the **Hummingbird House**

As someone who finds constant inspiration in the balance of nature—and who might spend a little too much time nurturing my own “green thumb”—shooting here felt like a breath of fresh air.
It’s that rare, perfect mix: a lush, jungle-like energy paired with impeccably manicured and elevated landscaping. The way the light filters through the canopy creates the kind of shadows and highlights that photographers live for. It was the ultimate backdrop for a garden wedding that felt both grounded and incredibly upscale. Needless to say- I was in heaven!

A “picture-perfect” day is always a collaborative effort, and working alongside fellow creatives is what makes this job so rewarding. A huge shoutout to **Robin Carpenter with The Event By Robin**—I mean, can you even handle this dreamy atmosphere? The vision came together so seamlessly.

With wedding season about to be in full swing, my heart (and my camera bag) is ready. I can’t wait to see the magic the rest of this year holds.
