Ricky needed some headshots for his portfolio and we decided to shoot them in downtown Austin for a fun, urban vibe. We had a blast shooting on the Congress bridge. If you need headshots or lifestyle portraits for your business, I'm your girl! DM to schedule a session in the Austin or Houston metro areas.

My day didn't go as originally planned when my GPS led me astray, which is okay because I stumbled across this beautiful sculpture garden right in the heart of Austin that I had no idea existed. This is one of the many things I love about the city: there are so many unexpected little treasures just waiting to be discovered and I never fail to discover something new every time I venture out.

I've been to many sculpture gardens but this one was particularly exquisite with the sculptures being primarily of people. Lots of reclining n**e females, mother and child figures, couples embracing and a few Christian figures. They all seemed to have their own story and I was dying to know each one, yet there was an underlying theme of love among them all. Most of the figures are looking upward to the sky in a sense of waiting or longing for something. I can't help but wonder what they are thinking about or what they are waiting for. Reminds me of the votive figures of the Ancient Near East.

The garden is located in a beautiful forested area with lots of trees which was such a treat because my new neighborhood has zero trees which I miss from my former town! It was literally a breath of fresh air to visit this place and be surrounded by nature and art, two of the things I love most.

So even even though these pictures aren't of real people in their elements, they are of people who very much felt like they were in their elements in this beautiful, natural setting. I'm so thrilled my day didn't go as planned or I wouldn't have discovered this place today!!

I had a blast tonight playing with my camera in one of the funnest photography workshops I've ever attended! "Let's Get Weird" Lead by Josh Baker a very talented and animated guy who made the class so fun and exciting! The techniques we learned include using gels on strobes and how to strategically place them to design the color scheme, using reflective tools over the lens to add texture, using projections to create otherworldly environments, using motion to add drama and create ethereal subjects and other ways to use lights and motion to create intriguing, enigmatic and imaginary worlds for our subjects. This will make my portrait work next level and from now on will keep aluminum foil in my camera bag! πŸ˜‰ None of these are edited, but straight outta the camera. Our beautiful model was who was fabulous to work with and a joy to shoot. I'm ready to go out and play!! Who's with me?!? 😁

Last month I had the pleasure and privilege of assisting brand new, band, in their video shoot and shots for their latest single, "Let Me Go", a song about grief and letting go of a loved one or the death of a relationship. It struck a nerve for me personally, and brought forth a very cathartic release of grief from relationships of my past that did not go as I had hoped. It's that powerful, especially with Matt Dixon's powerful voice. The band is now working with a world-renowned producer, so expect to be hearing a lot more from them!! It's been amazing to witness their journey unfold and I am truly happy for them. 🀘🏻

The shoot took place at golden hour at a magical park called Angel's Point that overlooks the Los Angeles City skyline from the most exquisite and breathtaking point of view. Pictured here is part of my process for creating the cover art for Let Me Go. I played with a couple of different layouts for the logo and title, as you can see in the first two photos- Which one do you like better?

The photo is a composite compiled from several photos I took during the shoot. The third photo is the completed composition before altering the color to give it an ethereal vibe and adding the text. The fourth photo is the composite of the three photos without any editing, just simply the images selected from photo 6, placed in the background of photo 5. I added the shadow and adjusted the lighting to create photo 3 so it looks realistic. What do you think??

Our beautiful model is vocalist for the darkwave band This collaboration was so much fun and I'm super excited for Goth Soul! You can hear this track on Sound Cloud.

APRIL 14, 2024 HAUNT ME TOUR VAN FUNDRAISER SHOW

What a fun day, listening to and photographing local alt rock bands in the heart of San Antonio! The event, curated and organized by Darius Davila, vocalist of .music , at , featured eight bands in addition to Haunt Me, a DJ, vendor market and food to raise money to get their tour van fixed which broke down on tour last year in California. There was a great turnout of people showing support which was great to see! I met some really cool people and made some new friends. I also got to shoot with an awesome camera, a 7R2, that I rented for the week to try out as I'm in the market for a new camera. It is a phenomenal camera, perfect for concerts which often have unique and unpredictable light shows. In these pics of Haunt Me, very little editing was needed aside from a little boost in contrast and maybe a little cropping. I'm very impressed with this camera and hope to invest in my own very soon!

First up in this series is the darkwave band .music This was my first time seeing them play and they put on a captivating set that had everyone dancing with their catchy guitar riffs and dreamy synths. πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ–€

I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed shooting them! I will be sharing the rest from the event soon. 🫢🏻

put on one helluva show at last night with and supporting. I've been wanting to catch Interpol for the longest time and they were amazing! I just can't get enough of their signature catchy & mesmerizing guitar riffs & melodies. 🎢🎸🎢

El Mato, an Argentine indie rock band, whose lyrics are all in Spanish, was great too with bright, catchy melodies, and danceable rhythms. Narrow Head (whom I wasn't expecting and only caught the last three songs in their set) was just bad ass and rocked. Can't wait to hear more from them.🀘🏻

The entire show had an ethereal vibe with the disco ball lights and stellar sound quality. I was lucky enough to stand by the guard rail that enclosed the accessible area, so no people directly in front of me, yet still too far to get completely clear and unobstructed pics. I've been in numerous art and photography exhibitions over the years but my most favorite was Bands & Fans, a Live Music Event - Creative Collaboration of Houston Photographers at the former venue Meridian in 2008. It was SO COOL to see my work printed in large format and hung in a concert venue where I attended many shows and shot many pics. Forever grateful to for inviting me to participate and not only curate the show but print all the pics!

SWIPE to see yours truly with some of the work exhibited and how awesome it was hung.
