Photography isn't just capturing happy times, but also times of reflection and remembrance of those who are no longer with us. Just a few snapshots I took at my dear friend's vigil for the family, to show the people who cared deeply and kept Joe's memory alive by exchanging stories.
Life has been particularly crazy this past few weeks. There have been 2 other deaths in my family and it's so hard to wrap my head around. I am experiencing grief in a way I could not have predicted. I am hyper aware of the preciousness of life.
My dear cousin-in-law passed on the fourth of July suddenly. He was only 31 with two small children, and I will be photographing his memorial on Saturday. It will be hard, grieving behind the camera, but I am doing it for family. Photos of the ones the surrounded Chad's life help keep him and his c***ections alive.
This is all such a new experience, yet it is an honor. RIP To two incredible souls.

I am so excited to announce that my first blog post is up! I had a website crash a few years ago and lost dozens of blogs, so I'm back at it! I have been shooting weddings since 2011 and took a break after the pandemic to explore other avenues, but my love for weddings has beckoned me back. Capturing the emotion of someone's most important day, documenting their loving guests, capturing all the little thought out details, and immortalizing such a union.. there's nothing else like it.⁠

One of my favorite weddings was a destination to Terlingua, TX, a ghost town with a magical atmosphere. I loved blogging because it's more than just my best images in my portfolio. This is Lilli Valentine, my Greatest Adventurer who I miss everyday and I am so glad to have these photos to remember her spirit by. She went everywhere with me. She and my recently bereaved friend, Joe, had a very special bond. Lilli turned Joe into a dog-lover, and won over so many hearts with her cuddles, kisses and sweetest demeanor. It brings me solace knowing that they are together now, on an adventure of the great unknown 💫🐶

With great sadness, I learned that one of my most beloved friends, Joel Weinbrot, passed away over the weekend. We were friends for 20+ years and had the kind of friendships that only come around a few times in a lifetime. He was a brilliant Doctor of literature, a thinker, the best listener, one of the nicest people I've ever known, hilarious, a willing model, and he was always there for his friends. I just wish I could talk time one last time. If you have a friend that you're missing and it's been awhile, please pick up the phone and call a loved one in honor of Joe.
Rest in peace my dearest friend. I'll see you on the other side 💔
