It takes a lot of imperfection to be this perfect... ✨

Is that how the saying goes? Or is it something like… the imperfect is perfect?

Well… this is me. Your photographer. Out in the wilderness shooting film… shooting digital… shooting instant film… shooting on my telephone… trying to capture a self portrait.

In a world of flawless self portraits and perfectly polished headshots, I'm giving you this.

Hair flying in my face. Smelling the flowers.

Self portraits may not be my cup of tea, but photographing other people? Now that brings me so much joy.

I love hearing people's stories. Their thoughts. What they love. Their history. All the little tidbits that make them... them. Or you… you.

I may not be fantastic at social media. How does one even make a reel?

I'll probably tell you a joke and forget the punchline.

I adore anything history related—reading it, listening to it, learning about it, all of it.

I love, love, love reading Eighteenth-century Gothic novels and wish I had more time to get lost in them.

I love looking through vintage photography books for inspiration—portraiture, documentary, all of it. Once upon a time I was studying to be a photojournalist…

I adore the joie de vivre of champagne and cake, and Rococo art. The Swing by Jean-Honoré Fragonard is my absolute favorite painting. The colors are so lovely, and I think the art of studying art is such a delight.

If you've made it this far, I'm impressed.

And honestly, I think it's kinda chic to remain somewhat of a mystery, so I'll stop boring you...

I'd much rather hear about you.

Tell me your stories. What do you love? What are you fascinated by? What little things make you wonderfully, unmistakably you?

Because that's the part I'm really interested in.

P.S. The green carnations are an ode to Oscar Wilde.

P.P.S. I see saying kinda chic… is kinda chic.

So perhaps it is kinda chic to take imperfect photographs of yourself. Which, in itself, is very chic, don't you think?

The quiet moments tucked between all the excitement. The Polaroid kiss you almost forgot happened because the day moves so quickly.

Your wedding day doesn’t have to be perfectly posed or perfectly planned to be beautiful.

That’s the romance of preserving the feeling of the day 🤍

For couples planning an Austin or Texas Hill Country wedding, I’m always looking for those in-between moments that make your story uniquely yours.

These weren’t just bridal portraits...

They were a pause in the middle of Janina’s wedding day—a chance to breathe, laugh, take in the magnitude of the day, and simply be present before the ceremony began.

I loved watching her move through these moments: the wind catching her veil, the laughter between photographs, the quiet beauty of her portraiture, and then the tenderness of being surrounded by the people she loves most.

Janina wiping away her mother’s tears.
Her flower girls beside her.
The laughter that eased the nerves.
The veil moving in the wind.

These are the pieces of a wedding day that I want to preserve—not only how a bride looked, but how it felt to be her in that moment.

Janina & Isaac’s Wimberley wedding was filled with so much beauty, connection, and genuine joy. And these bridal portraits became part of that story in a way that felt completely natural to the day.

There’s a quiet beauty in photographs that don’t feel like photographs at all 🤍

Candid photographs come from creating space for a couple to simply be themselves—allowing moments to unfold naturally.

If you’re hoping for photographs that feel natural and authentic to you as a couple, here are a few things to keep in mind:

✨ Choose a location that feels like you. Rather than simply choosing somewhere because it photographs well, choose a place that feels meaningful or feels like somewhere you’d naturally spend time together.

✨ Wear something you feel completely yourself in. When you’re comfortable, it shows.

✨ Don’t worry about knowing what to do with your hands. I’ll give you gentle direction when you need it, but I’ll also leave plenty of room for the unscripted moments to unfold.

✨ Keep moving and interacting. Walk, wander, laugh, hold each other close. The little moments between the “poses” are often where the magic lives.

✨ Most importantly, let yourselves be yourselves. Your relationship doesn’t need to look perfect—it just needs to look like you.

That’s what I’m always looking for during an engagement session: the way you naturally reach for each other, the little laughs, the quiet glances, and all those wonderfully imperfect, beautifully undone moments that belong only to the two of you.

This sweet evening at Inspiring Oaks Ranch in Wimberley was filled with exactly that kind of magic—blue skies, golden light, and Hannah & Lukas simply enjoying being together ✨

There's something about this Polaroid that I absolutely love.

Maybe it's because instant film isn't about perfection—it's about preserving a feeling. And sometimes, that's the heart of a wedding day ✨

It's a gentle reminder that while timelines, details, and portraits all matter, some of the memories you'll treasure most are the ones you never knew were unfolding.

Wedding Day Wisdom 🕊

One of the best decisions you can make for both your guests and your photographs is to schedule your reception toasts before dinner is served or after everyone has finished eating.

Not only does this help avoid photographs of guests (and the two of you) eating during such an important part of the evening, but it also allows everyone to be fully present for the people standing up to celebrate your story.

Your loved ones have taken the time to thoughtfully prepare their words. Giving them your full attention creates a more meaningful experience for everyone involved—and often leads to some of the most heartfelt, joy-filled photographs.

The laughter that bubbles over.
The happy tears.
The knowing glances.
The way you instinctively reach for one another's hand.

These are the moments that tell the story of your day just as much as the ceremony itself.

From both a photography and guest-experience perspective, setting aside dedicated time for toasts allows these heartfelt moments to receive the attention they truly deserve.

🤍 Did your reception toasts make you laugh, cry, or a little bit of both? I'd love to hear your favorite speech memory below!

✨ Save this wedding planning tip for later—your future self will thank you.

A little sparkle. A little anticipation. And one very full champagne coupe 🥂

There is something undeniably delightful about a wedding champagne tower.

Beyond being a beautiful wedding reception tradition, it's also a wonderful opportunity for genuine, candid moments to naturally unfold. The laughter, the cheers, and the anticipation create photographs that feel every bit as joyful as the celebration itself.

Captured during a beautiful wedding celebration at The Videre Estate in Wimberley, Texas, where moments like these unfold so effortlessly ✨

Some of the most joyful photographs happen when the unexpected makes an appearance...

A gust of Texas wind, paper parasols dancing through the air, and a bridesmaid laughing because all there was left to do was laugh and embrace the moment.

While we'll absolutely create beautiful portraits together, I always leave space for the in-between moments—the laughter after the pose, the wind that catches your dress, the hugs, the glances, and the moments no one could have planned.

Sometimes the weather becomes part of the story.

Those are often the photographs that bring you right back to how it all felt.

Friday Favorite ✨

Documenting meaningful detail photographs is one of the ways I love weaving your personality into your wedding gallery.

It's often my first quiet moment to slow down, take everything in, and begin telling the story of your wedding day through your meaningful details.

The heirloom jewelry. The engagement ring. The invitation suite. The perfume you wore. And sometimes... a handful of gummy bears because they make you smile.

I love incorporating personal touches that reflect your personality and the story only the two of you can tell. Whether it's a favorite treat, a family heirloom, handwritten vows, or elements inspired by your wedding venue, these tiny details become part of your love story.

If creative detail photographs are important to you, I always recommend gathering everything in one box before the wedding day so it's ready when I arrive. This gives us the time to create thoughtful, intentional images without feeling rushed and allows the freedom to create something uniquely yours.

The smallest details often become some of the most treasured photographs—and beautiful prints to display in your home.

Some seasons deserve to be celebrated simply because you're still choosing one another.

No grand occasion is required—just an evening together, golden light, and the quiet joy of being with your love.

Photographs that remind you not only of how your love looked, but how it felt.

Thank you, Marco & Tuckky, for trusting me to document this beautiful season of your story 💛

Captured during golden hour in Wimberley, Texas.

If you're dreaming of anniversary, engagement, or couples photographs that feel natural, romantic, and true to your story, I'd love to create them with you.
