Since 2008, photography has given me the gift of witnessing life unfold right in front of my camera. But this session… this one felt extra special.

For over a decade, I have photographed this beautiful family. I’ve watched their babies go from cake smash sessions to graduations, birthdays, milestones, and countless memories in between. Somewhere along the way, they stopped feeling like just clients and became people I genuinely love and admire.

One thing I have always noticed behind every single session is the joy this family carries. The laughter is real. The love is loud. And these parents… I have personally witnessed how hard they have worked to give their children a beautiful life filled with happiness, love, and unforgettable memories. You can see the gratitude their children carry toward them, and that alone says everything.

This past week, I had the honor of photographing their brand new home. It’s not fully finished yet, but I can honestly say it is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever stepped into. Not just because of how stunning it is, but because every corner reflects years of sacrifice, tears, hard work, prayers, and dreams finally becoming reality.

And the most beautiful part of all? The joy and smiles this family still carries through it all.

Dreams truly do come true. And I am so thankful I got to capture just a little piece of this family’s happiness.

Kayce was my client for over 12 years, and this is the first Mother’s Day she is physically gone. All I have left now are the memories… and thousands of photographs that tell the story of her love as a mother.

These are just a small glimpse of the moments I captured of her with her babies over the years.

One thing I always loved about Kayce was that even when a photoshoot was booked just for her children, and she felt unprepared to jump in the photos herself, I would always ask her to please get in for just one or two pictures. I am so thankful she never fought me on it. She always did it. She always jumped in.

And now, those photographs mean everything.

Happy Mother’s Day in heaven, Kayce.

I’ve been thinking so much about her children today. My heart feels so heavy for them, and for everyone who loved her. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about her. I miss her calls. I miss her texts. I miss her tremendously.

To all of my clients and fellow moms… please hug your children a little tighter today. Get in the photos, even when you don’t feel ready. One day, those images may become priceless treasures for the people who love you most.

This post is to honor Kacey, a beautiful mother who will never be forgotten.
