Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion does something to you that's hard to explain until you're standing trackside and a Group C cars roar by in a symphony of anger and fury. The Mazda 787B, the first Japanese winner of the 24-Hour Of LeMans flashes by along side a Williams FW11 Honda Turbo goes by as they roll in formation. Or watching the small but mighting '62 Lotus 22 screaming down to the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca... This is something special, something else.
All of this is here to remind us that we're alive to feel. We're here to be moved. We're here because watching these racing cars blast by at the limit of grip...its one of the few things left on this planet that yanks you completely into the present moment and reminds you to put the phone down and go enjoy the damn ride.
I think that's why you'll find Daniel Wu ε΄ ε½¦ η₯ driving his Datsun 510 or Zak Brown driving his Jaguar XJR-9. That's the obsession of of feeling alive. And no matter who we are, we want to be alive. These amazing help reminds us.
