Today is the day! My Branding & Website Design business is officially open ✨✨✨

I’m absolutely thrilled to share this next chapter with all of you! Here’s the lowdown:

Throughout the years, I’ve poured my heart out on this platform. It’s been my safe haven, where I’ve embraced vulnerability and built incredible connections.

In these squares, I’ve primarily shared my motherhood journey. But as my kiddos have grown, I’ve been considering how to navigate this space with their well-being in mind. So, I’ve archived their photos and decided to shift the focus back to my own journey. Now, I’m ready to share this next phase with you!

Your support has meant the world to me, and I’m forever grateful. I’m excited to share with you my next exciting adventure: the launch of my very own branding agency!

The truth? This agency has been in the works for quite some time. I’ve been hustling away behind the scenes, and it’s finally time to let you in on the action.

In the days ahead, I’ll be catching you up on some of my favorite projects. Some may sound familiar, while others are fresh off the press- each one holding a special place in my heart.

While my family will still make appearances, get ready to see me dive headfirst into my passion for branding and web design like never before!

Once upon a time, my husband and I owned a bar.

Creating the branding for this project was incredibly fun and meaningful.

Marten wanted to call this place “The bar” because it technically was simply a room of our restaurant, Kainos, not a separate legal entity. But, since the vibe was SO different than Kainos, we decided to let The Bar have it’s own branding. My favorite part of this place was that the entrance was through the unmarked back alley, behind a rolling bookcase.

Here’s a portfolio piece that’s close to my heart. Our family farm

At the beginning of COVID, we turned the two acres of land around our home into a farm. What started as a hobby to keep busy during such a strange time turned into a full-fledged business complete with a butcher shop and over 200 animals including chickens, geese, ducks, pigs, goats, a flower garden, bunnies and a hydroponic greenhouse.

Designing the brand for this project was so special. I wanted something that felt timeless, classic and comforting.

After a few years of happily digging in the dirt, chasing pigs and cuddling all the critters… we closed the farm to focus on our other business pursuits. Our time on the farm was some of the happiest of our lives, and I’m so glad we went all in on it!

Here’s to you, sweet Kainos ✨☕️✨

Another cornerstone of my portfolio, and a HUGE chapter of our family’s life… Kainos Coffee.

Quick backstory & Update: Back when Whimsy was a toddler and Glory was a little chubby baby and Oren was just a future dream… Marten started Kainos Coffee out of our living room. Marten and his best friend, Austin, built the first coffee roaster and food truck in our rainy driveway in NE Portland. Within a few years, he and his friends grew the company from a food truck to a three-location family of cafes. A wood-fired pizza oven was added to the story, led by Marten’s love for Neopolitan Pizza. Soon, Kainos was getting press locally and internationally for the quality of their coffee and pizza. The success of Kainos Coffee was truly a testament to the hard work and dedication of Marten and his team. They built a community around their cafes, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for customers to enjoy their delicious coffee and pizza. The passion and craftsmanship that went into each cup and slice was evident, the talent of every employee and the passion they gave was truly remarkable. It’s no wonder Kainos received recognition both locally and internationally. Now, Kainos has new owners whom we deeply love, respect, and trust and is thriving with new locations in Portland. Cameron & Olivia, you’re the best folks around and I’m so happy you’re the new owners. I am so grateful to every employee, customer and friend that made this dream possible 💕 thank you for making our life so magical.

Anyone remember this project? 🥰

By far one of my favorite things I’ve ever done… a print magazine ✨ this was certainly special for so many reasons- but mainly the incredible people I did the project with. I interviewed so many of my heroes and got to connect with amazing mothers all over the world to tell their stories. I was challenged to grow as a business owner and story teller in ways I’ll never forget. Incredible opportunities arose, like speaking on stage at events in Seattle and LA and private corporate spaces like about mental health for those juggling a career & motherhood.

I’m forever grateful for Callie, Kaitlin, Michelle, Julia, Megan, Natalie, Lily, Hannah and Eric, Austin… and so many more of my sweet friends who helped make this a reality. I could not have done it without you.

I would love to see a reboot of this project in the future ✨🌈✨ what do you think?!

How to rebrand without losing your originality OR your audience!

I know… rebranding can be scary! If you’ve got an established brand but you know it’s time to change things up big time, listen up. Rebranding is powerful. Do it right, and you’ll see conversions skyrocket. Do it wrong, and you’ll hear crickets. Here’s why:

Identify what people love about your current brand, and amplify it.
Stop. Take a breath. Take a break from being your worst critic for a few moments. Put your rose-colored glasses back on. Ask yourself, what do people LOVE about my brand? Is there anything that, if it were gone, your audience would miss it?

Having a professional designer who has experience not just in designing a logo, but designing a BRAND, a full-fledged business, is what you need. This is very different than designing a brand-new brand.
