Georgi Hernandez exemplifies the spirit of service and innovation. After retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 5 from the United States Marine Corps, Georgi has continued to make an impact — this time through the lens of a drone.

“As a member of V2D, I have found a community in which I can combine my two passions; my love for the Marine Corps and my service, and drones. Although I had already had my Part 107 prior to joining, I have found the organization to be extremely useful in helping me throughout my drone career... Now, I am enrolled in the Pix4D training, increasing my knowledge base and furthering my opportunities in this field.”

From flying drones as a combat cinematographer in the Marine Corps since 2016 to now applying those skills in film production and construction mapping, Georgi continues to set the bar for excellence.We are honored to have Georgi as part of the Vets to Drones family — a true leader, mentor, and example of how veterans continue to serve their communities through UAS technology.

Traded the Florida coast for the James River for a bit of training! And I'm seriously impressed! This Richmond, VA skyline view from above is absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. As a Miami native, I'll never give up the beach, but this city's vibe and natural beauty are something else. Had to pause the new pilot training to grab this shot. Check out this breathtaking 360 panoramic view of the Haxall Point area and the James River. More RVA drone shots to come!
