My life changed in the best way on October 22 when I became the Dad of Virginia Marie Patrick. She is one of the wonderful reasons October is my favorite month. Happy Birthday, Ginny Patrick

I did this photo a couple years ago to help my church, St. David's Episcopal, promote their involvement with SXSW as a music venue. Although luminaries such as Edie Brickell and Paul Simon only occasionally drop by, Jesus can be found there 24-7-365.

Sixteen years I have started my Christmas season photographing our neighbors at the Trinity Center Christmas Party in the gym of St. David's Episcopal Church in downtown Austin. This year, as in all the years I've done this, I found the spirit of Christmas sharing space with me in my little impromptu studio, and seen the faces of Christ in front of my camera.

The fire has burned 94000 acres and the authorities have issued pre-evacuation warning to some parts of Las Animas County, on our side of the pass. We’re not included yet and feel no threat right now. Pray for rain, y’all.

This Christmas marks the 15th year we've photographed our homeless downtown neighbors at the Trinity Center Christmas Party held annually at St. David's Episcopal Church. I was joined by my former studio mate Charla Wood, who has participated many times in these sessions in the past. We tried using a pure white background this year, so I thought I'd present the samples of our shoot in black and white. As is always the case, we received much more than we gave in these portrait sessions. Happy Holidays.

For fourteen years now my holiday season really begins when I photograph our homeless neighbors at the Trinity Center Christmas party. Their faces are gifts to me each year when I am blessed by their good cheer and gratitude at our portrait session in St. David's Episcopal Church. I hope these photos bless you too.

If you are gluten-challenged you'll love these tasty treats. I'm not avoiding gluten but love these delicious products anyway. Made here in ATX--check them out.

This is the twelfth year I have photographed our downtown homeless neighbors at the Trinity Center Christmas Party. Trinity Center was founded in 1999 by my church, St. David's Episcopal, to provide services for the neighbors experiencing homelessness in downtown Austin. At the party the neighbors are able to have a great hot barbecue lunch, receive warm clothes and toilet articles, and get their portrait done. We print them a 4x6 color print while they wait, which many show their friends and send to their families. One man told me this was the 8th time I'd photographed him, and we see many of the same faces from year to year. No paying client has ever shown more appreciation for the small favor of having their photo taken. Merry Christmas.
