✨ Sixteen Roses: A Legacy Through the Lens ✨
Today marks 10 years of Sixteen Roses Photography, and it’s hard to put into words how much this journey has meant to me.
Sixteen Roses has always been more than just a name. It was created in honor of my late grandmother, who passed away just before my 16th birthday(which happens to be 9/16), hence the number sixteen... and the day we laid her to rest, I remember seeing some of the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen. These were some of prettiest roses I had ever seen in my life. She was someone who meant the world to me, and naming my photography after her was my way of keeping her memory close while building something meaningful in my life.
What started as a passion and a creative outlet has grown into something I could have never fully imagined.
Over the last decade, I’ve had the privilege of capturing so many incredible moments engagements, weddings, growing families, seniors stepping into their next chapter, and the quiet in-between memories that deserve to be preserved forever.
Photography has never just been about taking pictures for me.
It’s about telling stories your stories.
The laughter, the love, the milestones, the fleeting moments that pass far too quickly.
To every single person who has trusted me with your memories over the last ten years… thank you. Whether you booked a session, referred a friend, shared my work, or simply supported my journey, you have been a part of this story.
I have watched families grow, babies turn into seniors, couples become parents, and so many beautiful chapters unfold in front of my lens. Being invited into those moments is something I will never take for granted.
These ten years have taught me so much about photography, about people, about storytelling, and about myself.
And the most beautiful part is knowing that this journey is still continuing.
Here’s to the memories already captured…
and to all the stories still waiting to be told.
And if my grandmother could see what Sixteen Roses has become today, I hope she would know that a part of her has been present in every photo, every story, and every moment captured along the way. 🌹
With love and gratitude,
Lauren
