The room was calm, but full of energy. The kind that only happens right before something big. Joanna was surrounded by love as her mom zipped her into her dress, her best friend offered a steady hand, and others quietly helped behind the scenes.

Is it even a party if a beluga whale doesn’t crash your wedding photos? 🐳
(Okay, okay, not technically invited, but Juno was 100% the moment at Christy and Ben’s wedding.)

Weddings at the aquarium have this undeniable extra layer of joy. There’s something about saying “I do” surrounded by sea life and good vibes that just makes everything feel a little more magical. Christy and Ben’s day was full of laughter, love, and some serious beluga photobombs. Juno was out there posing like he had his own wedding hashtag. 

We always love working with the kind and talented team at Mystic Aquarium, and this night just reminded us again why it’s such a special place.

A vow exchange with things done their way and… we’re still not over it.
Instead of a first look, Kelcey and Kris chose a private vow exchange with a door to separate them. Back to back. No peeking. Just hands reaching for each other, grounding one another, and pouring their hearts out before the ceremony even began. It was intimate, intentional, and incredibly powerful. They filled the room with quiet emotion, happy tears, and so much love you could feel it in your chest.
Their September wedding at Groton Long Point Yacht Club was beautiful! They had thoughtful details, heartfelt reactions, and a calm, steady energy that wrapped around the entire day. This first-touch moment during their vows was everything we love about documentary wedding photography: real connection to find grounding without seeing each other, real emotion, and moments that don’t need to be staged to be unforgettable.
These are the moments we live for as Connecticut wedding photographers. The pauses. The intention. The love that’s felt just as much as it’s spoken.
As we look ahead, this is exactly what we’re wishing for 2026, wedding days filled with presence, emotion, joy, and couples who choose what feels true to them.

Hi, hello, it’s us! C&M Photography Collective, home of Catherine Johanna Photography and Michelle Fonseca Photography, two actual human women with two actual human sets of hands, two cameras (or more like six), and apparently too much enthusiasm for our own Instagram launch…
Last time we tried this, we were so excited about our new business that we were both online liking and commenting at the same time. Instagram looked at two photographers celebrating their dream and said: “Yeah… that’s a robot.” Account flagged. 🤖
So. Here we are. New account. Same us. Slower clicking.

We are a wedding photography and videography team trusted by couples and families across New England, based in Connecticut, capturing the tears, the toasts, the chaotic first dances, and the quiet in-between moments that make your wedding day yours. We’ve photographed weddings all across New England and we genuinely love what we do… sometimes, apparently, a little too much for the algorithm.
