Figured I might as well make a formal post. We have decided to close our studio at this point. It has been an adventure and we gave it a shot. There have been some great times and I have had some amazing clients. That said we were just unable to figure out how to tap the market to make the venture sustainable. To be honest more often than not it was disheartening trying month to month to find clients to book. Constantly being told how great your work is, and then at the same time having to beg people at rock bottom prices to book shoots, or even watching them book other photographers instead of supporting you takes a toll. As much as the studio was my dream, it will be a breath of fresh air to not stress each month on what I could do to convince people to book shoots. I have honestly got to the point where I couldn't book paying clients and that being a priority I was no longer doing work that I wanted to be doing either, so I literally would go weeks without shooting.
To those who booked and supported the studio we appreciate you and are eternally grateful for your support as we took on this adventure. This year has been rough on so many level that we have not really put out there, and so as much as I wish this venture succeeded, and it was a tough decision to end, it is the right call both financially and mentally.
