California Hot Rod Reunion to Feature 17 Drag Racing Classes

Bakersfield, CA — August 24, 2026 — The California Hot Rod Reunion, presented by Good Vibrations Motorsports and featuring Nitro Revival, returns to legendary Famoso Dragstrip October 23–25, 2026, with a full weekend of throwback-style drag racing action.

This year’s Reunion will feature 17 drag racing classes, spanning door slammers, gassers, altereds and more. Headlining the weekend are fan-favorite nitro-burning Top Fuel Dragsters, Funny Cars and AA/Fuel Altereds, bringing the sights and sounds of nitromethane-powered racing to Famoso’s historic quarter-mile.

Pro Modified racing returns in a big way, with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association competing throughout the weekend. They’ll be joined by NHRA Heritage Series Group 1 and Group 2 classes and the always-popular A/FX class.

Returning after its successful 2025 debut is the California Independent Funny Car Association (CIFCA). The Outlaw Gasser Association will also be on hand with smoky burnouts and wheel-standing exhibition runs.

Every ticket is an ALL-ACCESS PASS, including the pits, Car Show, Vendor Midway and Swap Meet. Fans can get close to the cars and drivers, explore vendors and swap meet displays, and experience the history and culture that make the Reunion a premier West Coast event.

R.I.P. Rikard Gustafsson

The drag racing world has lost not only a six-time FIM-E Top Fuel Bike Champion in Rikard Gustafsson, but also an exceptional sportsman and a cherished friend. His achievements on the track were remarkable, but he will be remembered just as much for his kindness, sportsmanship, and passion for the sport in general.

My thoughts are with his family, his team and everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, Rikard.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Kyle Loftis, the founder of 1320 Video. His impact on the drag racing and automotive community as a whole was tremendous and will be remembered for years to come.

I was lucky enough to chat with him for a while during the NHRA Finals in 2021, and he came across exactly as he does in his videos – knowledgeable, friendly, and truly passionate about cars.

My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire 1320Video team during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Kyle and thank you for everything you gave to the automotive community.
