S & P married on the feast day of Saints Zelie and Louis Martin! What an amazing set of saints to have interceding for them as they began their marriage. Prior to the Mass they prayed a rosary privately together in the undercroft in front of a relic of Saints Zelie and Louis. They touched their rings to the relic making their wedding rings third class relics! How cool is that?!

Today I get to take photos of the sweet baby and parents we showered just a few months ago! I absolutely love getting to capture these types of milestones and celebrating your marriage beyond the wedding day. That’s why we’ve always said we create “films for marriage”. The best things are seeing when our past couples are expecting a child or other ways you are spreading God’s love in your community! And If you want those moments documented on photo or video we are here for it!!

Many of our favorite moments are the ones that aren’t posed. Just the two of you soaking in the moment and being fully present to each other each other. There’s something so sweet about the way a new husband helps his bride with her dress or walking through the grass as we move to different locations. Don’t mind us, we will be silently capturing each moment… you just go on and keep enjoying each other!

It’s so simple. A slightly out of focus shot of a bride dancing barefoot during her first dance with her husband. But it’s one of my all time favorites. All eyes were on her and she was not afraid to kick off her shoes and lean fully into the moment with her groom. I like to imagine this is symbolic of the beginning of our couples’ everyday.. dancing barefoot in the kitchen or living room just because. Caught somewhere between the juxtaposition of striving for Christ-like perfection and being human at the same time… helping each other get to heaven!

So I was going to make a whole post of black and white photos from this wedding that I just love. But then IG wanted to crop them all weird and I got sad because for many of them it’s the composition of the whole shot that makes it what it is! But here are 2 vertical shots from the mass! A classic dad and daughter shot and then a moment of a small child looking at Jesus while being held in the back of the church. Such a simple moment but also so sweet. I’ll post the other shots in stories bc I’m not letting IG crop them!

A little update: Starting next week we are going to take an intentional 2 week break from social media. Usually we aren’t even that active with our posting but it’s the scrolling that takes up our time and steals creativity. Going into 2025 we are working to put a high priority on fostering both creativity and radical hospitality in our home which in turn will impact our work hopefully in a good way! There’s a lot we could say about both of these 2 gifts but I imagine we will find a more creative way to do that later this year ;)

During our 2 week break we will be deleting social media from our phones and resisting the urge to be on our phones during down time.. we want to experience boredom to inspire our creativity. We will be enjoying family time and also doing some dreaming for the new year. The second half of 2023 and all of 2024 was highly focused on creating a literal new life for us. Now our babe is a year old and the focus is shifting back to this business.. our work baby. If you’re an entrepreneur you get that! 2025 will be the year for updating our brand, website, communications/workflow, our office space, etc. We also hope it’ll bring more photography opportunities like this sweet family session we did. We are looking forward to what’s to come!

The sweetest Christmas Tree Farm proposal! It’s always an honor to be able to capture memories like these. We actually were able to capture video of this proposal as well. We are just getting home from almost a week working at the farm so it’ll be fun to see the video footage now that we’re back to the office! You know what I’ve been loving lately?! Capturing proposals! We get to make a game plan with the groom-to-be and the anticipation of helping the proposal come to be is exciting! Then watching the couple celebrate together or with family and friends just melts me. Making sure these candid, priceless moments are captured is such an honor. If you think you might want your proposal captured in the future send your man this post so he can reach out to us!

Can’t wait to document the wedding of these two tomorrow!! We are excited to be capturing both photo and video for this couple. Taking engagement photos and having that time to get to know each other in person prior to the wedding day may be one of my favorite things about offering photography now! Stay tuned for some sneak peeks from tomorrow!

The surprise went well and she said yes! I may or may not have had a stress dream the night before about popping up to soon and ruining the surprise but it all went perfectly! Such an honor to be able to capture this moment for this sweet couple!

Part One of this engagement session was a sunrise hike! It was a bit of an adventure but we made it in time just as the sun was peeking over the trees! To the heights!! ⛰️
