Trump just suggested that if Iran “takes out Los Angeles” and San Diego, it would be a “very small price to pay,” and his audience actually cheered. I’m having a hard time thinking of anything more fundamentally anti-American than cheering the idea of a foreign enemy destroying American cities and killing Americans because you don’t like how those cities vote. Los Angeles and San Diego are America. The people who live there are Americans. You don’t get to call yourself a patriot while applauding the idea that millions of your fellow citizens are expendable.

Who needs enemies when we have a president like Trump?
