This surprise proposal was over a decade in the making and just so meant to be!

Jesse and Sean live on Long Island and have the kind of work schedules that don’t leave much room for weekend getaways. We weren’t sure this trip was happening until they were basically walking out the door (slight exaggeration, but only slight).

So... Jesse had no idea what was coming. Sean, meanwhile, had been planning this down to the photographer, the ring, and — I’m not being dramatic — a cotton candy sky that broke all of our brains a little. (Still trying to figure out how he managed to pull strings for the most perfect sunset) Happy tears, shaky hands, the biggest yes that I could hear from all the way across the lawn... I couldn’t be happier for Jesse and Sean!

Congrats to these two. More from our evening on the Eastern Shore, coming soon šŸ’•

Rachel and Roger were married by a dear friend in the most stunning outdoor amphitheater on Friday, and I am still thinking about it. šŸ’•

From the teary first look to private vows to the very last song on the dance floor, these two did not leave each other’s side all day. There’s a kind of love that doesn’t need a spotlight to be obvious, and that’s exactly what this was.

I met Rachel back in 2021 at her older sister’s wedding, then got to photograph newborn sessions for both her niece and nephew. And now this. Getting invited back into a family, watching them grow and grow up around you, then having the joy of watching another member marry the love of their life… I don’t take that lightly. I can’t tell you how special it was to have so many familiar faces in a room that now feel like my own people too.

Rachel and Roger, y’all are the real deal. More from this one soon šŸ¤

Wait a second... this isn’t a wedding šŸ‘€

Nope, haven’t been hacked, promise. Betcha didn’t know I actually spent a few years photographing sports in college?

Fun fact: my degree is in photojournalism, which turns out to be shockingly useful every single day as a wedding photographer… and as I earned my degree, I spent a lot of time with a press credential, monopod, my longest lens, and hot pink kneepads, crouched on the sidelines of many-a-Penn State athletics games. When you think about it, there is actually a lot in common between sports and wedding photography: watch closely, know where to stand, and be ready before the moment happens... just with a few more things flying in any and all directions in the sports world šŸ˜…

It’s been the better part of a decade since I’ve photographed sports, but I recently got to shadow Amanda Bowen and her team at a Nats game, and my college sports career came rushing back. Somehow checked my first pro-level game AND first baseball game, all in one night. While baseball definitely has a different energy and pace than the fields of Beaver Stadium, so much came rushing back... all while learning so much too. All in all, I’m so grateful for such a wonderful learning opportunity and a reminder of how much I love the energy and storytelling found in sports. Thank you thank you, Amanda Bowen!

So just because... here are a few of my favorite frames from an evening at Nats Park, to mix things up here in the feed.ā¤ļøšŸ’™

Breaking news: this gallery is officially off to her forever home šŸŽ‰

I couldn't resist sneaking in a few extra frames from Christine's getting ready suite too... the JoBro throwbacks and vibes in that room were unmatched!

If you want a ceremony program that guests actually remember, take notes from Christine & Luc's custom wedding newspaper šŸ—ž It made the whole getting-ready and details portion so much fun, and I love when a detail is this personal and functional!

Just because this one went home this week, and I’m quite literally obsessed with these two (and their pups) 🄹

Carrie and Nirja received their final gallery just a few days ago, and as excited as I am for them to scroll through their beautiful day, I can’t help but feel a little sad that my time with them on my screen has come to a close.

I’ve had zero chill about their gallery all week, in the best way. So if you need me, I’ll just be here missing the excuse to open it every day šŸ’•

Candid or plan-did? Not so black and white. (See what I did there? šŸ˜‰)

Some of these frames were fully unprompted. Some were planned to the last detail. Most live somewhere in between.

Here’s the truth: the best photos come from being present, not performing for the camera. Whether I’m catching you mid-laugh or asking you to hold each other close, the magic is the same. It’s you, actually there, actually feeling it that makes a frame so sweet! šŸ’•

Every so often a couple asks if they should put together a shot list before their wedding day. My answer is always the same: Actually, please don't.

Now... let's break this down a little more. I'm not talking about your family portrait list. That's its own thing, and one we'll always build together. (More on this in a second) I'm talking about the shot list that has you trying to recreate a moment you saw in someone else's gallery. The kind of list that pulls you out of being with your people so you can step into a pose you rehearsed in your head three weeks ago.

That list costs you twice, honestly. Once during planning, when your energy could be going toward something that actually matters to you two and again on the day itself, when it turns into this quiet race against your own list— always thinking about what box is next to check instead of just being in the moment that's happening right in front of you.

I'd rather you spend this energy somewhere else. Catch up with your people. Let the day unfold without feeling like you owe a moment to your camera roll because it's "supposed" to happen. The photos that come out of you just being present are always the ones that mean the most... not because anyone staged them, but because they're real.

Small caveat, because some things do need to be planned ahead of time: we will always, always build a family portrait list before your wedding day. The must-have combinations with your VIPs are locked in ahead of time, so you're not standing around cocktail hour trying to remember if you got the one with your parents. You'll already know it's handled.

Outside of your VIP list, there's really only one other thing I'll ask you for in regards to any kind of "shot list." Before your day, tell me the moments or details you're genuinely excited about experiencing... Not so I can plan an exact frame around them, but so I know to be extra tuned in when they're happening, or to look out for your guests finding and enjoying that one detail you've been dreaming about for months. The unscripted stuff will always beat anything recreated. Pinky promise.

Don't believe me? Just ask Emily and Josh šŸ’•

Oh hi, I'm Cait, and if you're reading this I'm probably deep in an audiobook and my editing queue at the same time (a multitasking queen šŸ’…). It's been a minute since I introduced the face behind this profile, so figured it was time to pop in and say hello.

If we haven't met yet: I'm a wedding photographer, auntie, dog mom, and caffeine ju**ie (Hey, at least I'm also self aware?).

I'm also a proud q***r woman who puts the L in LGBTQ+, and I believe every couple deserves a wedding day where they feel safe and seen exactly as they are. That belief is basically the whole reason I do this job, but more on that in a minute. My rescue pup Addie is my entire world, and if you ever meet her, she will absolutely ask for a tummy rub while also hoping you came with a treat in hand. I'm constantly on the hunt for a cute coffee shop with a solid dairy free iced matcha latte (bonus points for a hint of vanilla or pistachio), I live to giggle, and there is nothing I love more than exploring a new place with a camera in hand. While Baltimore is my home base, I'm just as happy on a flight as I am on a road trip, and I'll go wherever the story is, coast to coast or across an ocean.

And here's the thing I come back to over and over: wedding photography was never really about the photos. It's about the people. I center every single client's individuality because no two wedding days should look or feel the same. The energy in the room, the nostalgia that hits before the day is even over, the heart behind every small detail, the love that's impossible to fake... That's what I'm always chasing šŸ’•

So... all of this is just a very long way of saying thank you for being here. If you're new, welcome, and if you've been here for a while, I'm so grateful for your support! I am so happy you're here!

Okay your turn... tell me something random about you. Your coffee order, current obsession, what you're binging on your TV or podcast queue right now... I want to know šŸ‘‡

Bonus film frames for because Abie and Travis’s wedding has taken over my computer screen all week, and I’m not even one bit mad about it. Color, heart, whimsy, and a whole lot of fun— exactly the kind of day I could look at on repeat. Which... I have been. These two get their gallery SO soon šŸŽžļøšŸ„³
