A little 2027 teaser…

For the last six years, I’ve tried to be the photographer who captures everything. And honestly, what a blessing that has been. 🤍

I’ve had the opportunity to photograph so many different people, seasons, milestones, celebrations, and memories. Trying it all has taught me so much—not only about photography, but about the kind of moments that truly light me up behind the camera.

Then came 2026.

This year, I intentionally slowed down a little. Between recovering from a knee injury, some big changes in our own family, and making more time for the people who mean the most to me, I’ve had a lot of time to step back and really think about where I want to take my photography passion.

And that slower pace has actually made something incredibly clear: these are the moments I love most.

𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀: Celebrating who they are and what makes them unique! From their school and hobbies to their interests, passions, and personality, senior sessions are all about capturing the little things that make them them during such an exciting milestone year.

𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀: Capturing the love, connection, chaos, and little personalities that make each family unique—and preserving those moments as families grow, change, and make memories together.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Capturing the energy, excitement, and little moments that make each event special—from birthday parties and county fairs to celebrations, community events, and marketing photos for local businesses. The details, the people, and the moments you may not even realize are happening until you see them in a photograph.

𝗘𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Small weddings and elopements have stolen a special little piece of my heart, too. There’s something so beautiful about their intimate nature and being able to focus on the couple, their connection, and the meaning behind the day.

Trying it all for the past six years has been such a gift. But taking a step back in 2026 has shown me that these niches bring me the kind of excitement that reminds me why I picked up a camera in the first place.

So as I look toward 2027, I want to be more intentional about what I offer. Not just for me, but for all of you. I want to provide the experiences, sessions, and storytelling that make the absolute most sense for the people I’m blessed to photograph.

So… consider this your little 2027 teaser. 👀

More of the moments we love.
More intentional storytelling.
More of the things that bring us joy.
And hopefully, more of you in front of my camera. 🤍

There’s more coming, and I can’t wait to share it with you.📸

I’ve been trying to figure out how to sum up the last three weeks, and honestly... WOW! ❤️🍀🎡

Between pre-fair shows, a whirlwind of fair week festivities, and the post-fair marathon of sorting and uploading photos, it's been a ride! I know many of you have been waiting for the official "all clear!" that every photo is uploaded and the smaller galleries are ready... probably with the same level of anticipation as a 4-H'er watching the judge for those final results. 😂

Now that we've officially crossed the finish line, here are a few fun numbers from the last three weeks... because if you're anything like me, numbers like these are kind of fun. 🤓

📸 3 photographers
⏰ 341 hours spent capturing memories (only 26 of those hours were pre-fair week events!)
🖼️ 51,035 images uploaded to the gallery

Fifty-one thousand and thirty-five photos. 🤯

Every early morning, late night, and countless miles walked around the fairgrounds were all for one goal: preserving the moments that make the BEST county fair so special.

Before you download your favorites, don't forget to give a huge thank you to the fair board for making FREE digital downloads possible. Their support allows these memories to be shared and treasured by everyone, and that's something pretty special. ❤️

So... remember when fair week ended and we all thought we'd finally get to catch up on sleep? 😂

Yeah... about that….

I promise the final photo count and the smaller gallery links are still coming! We made a pretty big life change right before the fair, so instead of recovering this weekend, we've been in full-on "let's get our lives together before school starts" mode. 📦🏡💪

Turns out loading fair week photos wasn't the finish line—it was just the warm-up. 🤣

Thank you for being patient while we wrap up these last few fair updates. I can't wait to share the final numbers with you!

Until then, if anyone needs me, I'll be fueled by caffeine, crossing things off the to-do list, and counting down to the glorious nap I'm convinced I'll take once the kids are back in school... even though we all know it'll probably last about 17 minutes. 😂

🚨🎉 THIS IS NOT A DRILL... WE'RE DOWN TO THE FINAL 1,000! 🎉🚨

The last 1,000 photos are uploading right now! 🥳

If my completely unofficial, coffee-fueled calculations are correct ☕️📸, they should be finished within the next 1–2 hours. Our internet has been an absolute trooper, but let's just say it's earning a well-deserved retirement after this. 😂 Thankfully, faster internet is coming next month, and I don't think anyone is more excited than we are!

Later tonight, I'll post the official final photo count (I have a feeling it's going to be a big one 🤯) and I'll also break the gallery down by day since so many of you found that helpful last year.

One quick heads-up: I'll have limited access to messages today. Any spare minute I find will be spent keeping an eye on these uploads, and I'll be catching up on messages by Monday evening.

We are SO close to wrapping up another incredible fair! ❤️ Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for cheering us on while we work through thousands upon thousands of memories. Now let's get these last photos across the finish line! 🏁📸

🎡 We may have left the fairgrounds, but we're pretty sure we're still spinning from last week's whirlwind... 😵‍💫😂

The good news? Every upload is giving us the chance to relive the best moments all over again—from blue ribbons and big smiles to carnival rides, livestock shows, and all the little memories in between. ❤️📸

We're still chugging away through thousands (and thousands 😅) of photos, but we're making great progress! Thank you for your patience while we sort, edit, and upload every last memory.

Our goal is still to have every image online by 8/1, so keep checking back—you never know when your favorite fair moment will pop up!

Now if someone could invent a ride that uploads photos for us, we'd really appreciate it. 😉🎠📷

There’s something about the last day of the fair that feels different.

The barns are a lot quieter. The midway has one more full night of bright lights and excitement. Boots are a little dustier, everyone is a little more tired, and before long, the trailers will pull out and the fairgrounds will return to being just fairgrounds.

For one week each year, though, this place becomes so much more. It's where lifelong friendships are strengthened, hard work is celebrated, traditions are carried on, and memories are made that will be talked about for years to come.

To every 4-H'er: be proud of what you've accomplished this week. Whether you came home with ribbons, learned something new, overcame a challenge, or simply gave it your all, you should leave with your head held high. The fair has a way of teaching lessons that reach far beyond the show ring.

As the gates prepare to close on another Johnson County Fair, I hope you take these next few hours to take one last walk through the exhibit halls, grab one more fair treat, wave to a few more familiar faces, and soak it all in. These are the moments you'll miss long before you realize they're gone.

Thank you for allowing us to capture your stories this week. Every smile, every victory, every hug, every tear, and every little candid moment has been an honor to photograph and we can’t wait to see you share your favorite moments too!

Remember—the fair may only last a week, but the memories will last a lifetime. ❤️🎡📸

🎡🍀Meet Your Fair Photographer! 🍀🎡

Hi, I'm Kayleigh! 👋 Better late than never for an introduction, right?!

The Johnson County Fair has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was a 10-year 4-H'er, a member of the 2009 Queen's Court, and I've now spent 15 (or maybe 16... I've officially lost count! 😂) years as a 4-H leader. I'm also proud to be a member of the Trafalgar Homemakers.

This year marks my 5th year capturing the memories that make fair week so special. From first blue ribbons to showmanship smiles to the candid moments in between, it's truly an honor to help preserve these memories.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me with my two girls, who are both Mini 4-H'ers and junior members of the Trafalgar Homemakers. In our "free time," we love sewing, baking, and creating together.

This little photography adventure is definitely a family effort. My husband, Andy, is the biggest supporter of every crazy idea we dream up and is always cheering us on. ❤️ If you've spotted other photographers around the fairgrounds, you've probably seen my parents, too! They volunteer countless hours throughout the week, helping capture as many special moments as possible so families have memories to look back on for years to come.

Thank you so much for trusting our family to help tell your fair story. We love being part of this amazing community, and it's a privilege to preserve a small piece of your fair memories each year. ❤️📸

What a turnout! 🤩

Thank you to everyone who came out for photos by the fair sign tonight! It was so much fun seeing so many 4-H'ers stop by for one last fair photo.

I have to know... should we make this a yearly tradition? 👀📸

Before y’all come at me: just a phone photo of my little chilling waiting for her turn- she didn’t get to cut in line. 🤣

Auction just ended. Give me a few minutes for these last photos, quick bathroom break and then I’ll be walking to the midway.
