It’s Homecoming. 🧡🖤
There’s something different about walking into your own stadium on a night like this. The lights feel a little brighter. The stands are a little louder. And there are a whole lot of people watching who remember what it felt like to stand exactly where you’re standing now.
So to the football players — play hard, trust the person beside you, and leave everything you have on that field.
To the cheerleaders and color guard — bring the energy. You help turn a football game into a Friday night people remember.
To the Tiger Band — play loud enough that they hear you long after the last note.
To the athletic trainers and sports medicine crew — keep doing the work most people never notice until somebody needs you. You matter more to that sideline than you probably realize.
And to every student wearing Smithville across their chest tonight: look around.
One day you won’t get to do this anymore.
You won’t always have another homecoming, another Friday under these lights, another bus ride, another halftime, another chance to stand beside these exact people.
So be where your feet are.
Take the pictures. Sing the fight song too loud. Hug your friends. Do your job. Cheer for each other. Make the play. Pick each other back up when you don’t.
And when tonight is over, make sure you can say you were really there for it.
Happy Homecoming, Tigers. Make it one worth remembering. 🐅🧡🖤
