In the middle of another Louisiana summer, I find myself missing days like these. There’s something about the cooler weather, slower mornings, and days spent celebrating that makes winter feel especially beautiful 🤍

The art of noticing.

On the day of Ashtyn & Nick’s elopement, I arrived a little early to Audubon Park. Ashtyn had told me about this bridge that she was really drawn to, and where we planned to do her first look with Nick.

While I waited for them to arrive, I wandered around taking a few detail photos. I walked away from the bridge to look at the light, and when I turned around, I saw it from a new angle. The way the tree framed the bridge was so beautiful to me. I got excited, set up my shot, took the photo, and moved on with the day.

Later that evening at the reception, I caught a glimpse of one of the art panels on the wall inside the Audubon Clubhouse. It was the bridge. And not just the bridge. It was the exact view I had photographed earlier that day.

I pointed it out to Ashtyn, and she had no idea there was a connection until I showed her. I haven’t really stopped thinking about it since. Because I wasn’t the first person to notice that little corner of Audubon Park was beautiful. Someone else had seen it, too. They had stopped, looked at it, and decided it was worth preserving.

They did it with paint. I did it with a photograph. And someday, someone else will probably notice it again and make something of it in their own way.

I think that’s one of my favorite parts of what I get to do. I get to notice things. I get to create. I get to preserve little pieces of a day that would otherwise just pass by.

And sometimes, I get a reminder that I’m just one of many people who have looked at the same beautiful thing and thought, I want to remember this.

Long after the flowers have faded and the music has ended, these are the moments that remain. The quiet anticipation, the laughter shared, the effortless joy, and all the fleeting moments in between become the memories you’ll return to for a lifetime.

Preserving those moments with honesty, intention, and care is my favorite part of what I do.

There was nothing extravagant about this moment. Just a bride and groom in a white limousine leaving the church after saying “I do”. Yet somehow, it feels cinematic.

To me, this is what timelessness really is. It’s not creating something extraordinary, but recognizing the beauty that already exists and preserving it with care.

Rachel & Chase moved through the day with so much grace and tenderness. Joy followed Rachel everywhere she went, and Chase loved her so openly and fully — always looking at her as though he’d found home. Their intimate Gulf Coast wedding was filled with intention, warmth, and quiet beauty. A few favorite portraits from a day that felt so deeply special to witness.
