It was definitely time for some new headshots. I can’t believe I’ve been at this now for 14 years, and I still absolutely adore it. I know I’m supposed to share more about myself here, but how about you book me for a session…I’ll over share within the first half hour. 🫣 Thank you my friends, for supporting me in this space and for those who have watched my journey from start to now! Some people just make really hard things look easy.
Abby and Warren danced in front of the Gulf like they do it every weekend. Ms. JoAnn planned a wedding that flowed so effortlessly you’d think she’s been planning weddings her whole life. Mr. George built the band’s stage and the bar overlooking the water like that’s just what he does.

The funny thing is...none of that is actually what they do. Abby and Warren spend their days taking care of people in medicine. Ms. JoAnn isn’t a wedding planner. Mr. George isn’t a professional event builder.

They’re just people who love really, really well.

From meeting by chance at a college date party, to a proposal under string lights in the middle of one of the biggest weeks of medical school, to dancing the night away with the people they love most...their story has always been full of joy.

And I think this wedding reflected exactly who they are.

Hardworking. Fun. Family-centered. The kind of people who pour their whole hearts into the people around them.

What a gift it was to photograph this day. Congratulations, Abby & Warren. I have a feeling you’ll keep making this marriage thing look effortless too...even though we all know the best things in life are built with a whole lot of love and God’s grace. 🤍

Riley is most comfortable bare foot next to the water…and almost a little too comfortable being swung around on a narrow harbor walkway. I guess that happens when you’re a shrimp boat captains daughter and spent countless hours around boats and on the water. She’s a true daughter of the coast. And Juan’s most comfortable with any adventure Riley puts him up to, so he’s obviously a catch. I love their joy with each other and am so excited to capture them on the altar next month!

It’s been such an adventure with these two.⁣
They’ve taught me about the Neshoba County Fair, reminded me that not even a wild South Mississippi storm can keep a joyful bride from walking into her wedding with grace, and let me witness a love story that started in the most fitting place—a book club studying C.S. Lewis’ The Four Loves.⁣
Looking back on their wedding day, I think Lewis would have smiled.⁣
It was full of friendship, surrounded by family, overflowing with romance, and above all, anchored in the love of God—the One who teaches us what love is in the first place.⁣
What a joy it’s been to tell your story. Congratulations, you two. 🤍⁣

I knew that Alaya was a kindred soul when she showed up to a meeting with me with a handmade pen and paper Filofax type planner. She put the same creativity, heart, and intention behind her wedding and it was amazing. Can't thank this kind couple for their trust and sharing their story with Ricky and me! Ashleigh requested that they meet up at a bar for their first date, rather than a restaurant, in case the date went south and she needed a quick getaway. Little did she know she was about to meet her future best friend, adventure partner, and the kind of guy who still "boops" people on the nose, and does the old "hey what's that" while pointing to your shirt so he can drag his finger up your face (please tell me you remember that, or am I dating myself?!). Are you smiling as big as I am right now? I love that people like Ashleigh and Kevin exist. . .down to earth, kind hearted, adventurous, and they wanted their wedding day to feel good for them, not just look good. Although I'd say they looked amazing. So thankful we got to be there on one of the best days of their lives!

Spending an afternoon with these two was just so much fun, and the photos that we got are just the cherry on top. I really love a good “how we met” story, and Aerial and Austin’s is one of the best I’ve ever heard. It involves many years of friendship and persistence. I won’t say anymore because Austin can tell it much better than I can, and he’ll have you laughing at the same time as renewing your hope in real and genuine love in these times. I’m so honored to be on this journey with these two beautiful souls!

I hope you have this kind of joy on your wedding day. 😭 The way that people showed up for these two on their wedding day, the overwhelming joy and excitement and love in this room, you can tell that Chancey and Tahveyei are the kind of people who show up for others constantly. And to see it poured back on them was amazing. I feel beyond honored to get to have witnessed and captured this day for these two.

One day you’re just living your life and renewing your golf cart tag, and you meet a police officer covering the receptionist who was out…and you click instantly and before you know it you’re having dinner and drinks. It’s easy to see why Nicole and Dylan were inseparable after first meeting. They are both are warm and fun and totally up for an adventure. Running around Nola with them was an absolute blast, but next time I want to join them on one of their gator hunts(!!!). 🤗 I can’t wait to capture them at the altar this upcoming January! junebugweddings thatsdarling fearlessphotographer utterlyengaged
