E-BIKE RIDER STRUCK BY CAR, SERIOUSLY INJURED

The East Northport Fire Department and Suffolk County Police responded to a crash involving a car and an e-bike in front of the Wendy’s on Larkfield Road in East Northport at around 9:50 p.m. The rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The roadway is closed for the investigation.

Firefighters made quick work today on a detached garage in Central Islip this morning.

Smoke was seen from all parts of the island after a fire broke out in Central Islip. Firefighters responded quickly extinguished the fire, preventing further extension to surrounding structures.

While out east for the day, Flanders Fire Dept, NY-Keeper of the Pines was dispatched to “smoke pouring from a house” on Royal Ave in Riverhead. Upon arrival, a microwave was on fire and extinguished by the homeowner. Firefighters ventilated the house before returning to service. Pictured is engine 7-9-2.

FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE PLAINVIEW HOUSE FIRE

Around 3:15pm on Friday October 23rd, 2026 The Plainview Fire Department and mutual aid companies responded to a house fire at 16 Joyce Road. First arriving units confirmed a working fire. First arriving companies stretched hand lines and began primary searches. Fire was located on the first floor and basement and took roughly 45 minutes to bring under control. There were no reported injuries.
