Something I think we sometimes forget…

When you’re scrolling through Facebook and you stop at a photograph or a piece of art that makes you feel something, remember that there is a real person behind it.

Artists and photographers spend countless hours, a lot of money, and years of commitment creating the work you get to enjoy here every day. You see the finished photograph — you don’t always see everything it took to make it.

So when you find an artist whose work you enjoy, support them. Leave a comment. Share their work. And if they’re selling something you love and you’re able to, buy something.

It doesn’t have to be the biggest or most expensive piece.

That support does more than make a sale. It lifts an artist’s spirit. It tells them, keep going, keep creating.

Because without support, eventually a lot of talented artists simply can’t afford to keep doing what they love.

Support the artists who bring a little beauty into your day. ❤️

As the Storm Rolled In…

I captured this yesterday, just as the storm was beginning to roll in. The sky was incredible—the last light breaking through those dark, powerful clouds before everything changed.

As beautiful as the scene was, I know the storm brought strong winds and caused damage to homes and properties throughout the area.

I’m very sorry to anyone who had damage or is dealing with cleanup today. I hope everyone stayed safe.

Most of the Good Photographs Happen Close to Home

Sometimes we think we have to travel far away to find something worth photographing.

But the truth is, some of the best photographs happen right around your own house.

You just have to keep looking at the same places in different light, different weather, and at different times of the year.

This tree isn’t far from home. I’ve passed it many times.

But on this evening, the light made it completely different.

Sometimes you don’t need a new location.

You just need the right moment.
