A little change around here 🫶🏼
This one honestly breaks my heart a little. This isn’t something we should have to be considering the weight of, but here we are. And it is weighty.
It’s sad because I love sharing your families. I love showing up here and sharing your beautiful families and all the joy and connection.
But, becoming a mother has changed the way I think about what belongs on the internet. And the more I learn, the more convicted I’ve become about being intentional with the images I share publicly.
Especiallyyyyy as AI continues to move at a speed that honestly scares me a little. There are so many things changing so quickly and I don’t think we even fully grasp it all. Not to mention how we’re quickly learning there’s little to no protection against sickening ways it can be used.
And for me, there’s the simple fact that parents can change their minds.
What felt okay to share a few years ago might not feel okay anymore. I never want a parent to feel uncomfortable asking me to take something down or worry that they’ve somehow changed their mind too late.
Your kids were never content to me.
They aren’t my art.
These images are your memories.
I’m just here to photograph them for you — to give you something tangible to hold onto when the little hands aren’t so little anymore, when the house is quieter, and you would give anything to go back to this version of them for just a minute.
So the way I photograph your family isn’t changing.
I’ll still be documenting all the goodness. I’ll still be chasing the joy, connection, and cheesy grins. I’ll still be obsessed with the messy, ordinary, beautiful pieces of your life.
I’m just choosing to do this one small thing to hopefully protect our babies a little more in the process.
This is simply me deciding what I feel convicted to contribute in my little corner of the internet.
And for me, this is part of stewarding this business well. 🤎🫶🏼
