If the phrase “I’m not photogenic” has already crossed your mind while planning your wedding — this one’s for you.
Rachel and Adam said the same thing. Neither of them felt comfortable in front of a camera. Rachel was nervous about posing, worried about looking stiff, unsure how any of it was going to work.
Here’s what actually happened on their wedding day:
They laughed. They forgot I was there. And when Rachel got her photos back, she said she felt like she was still there — right back in the middle of that day, feeling everything all over again.
That doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens because good direction isn’t about telling you where to put your hands. It’s about giving you just enough guidance that you stop thinking about the camera entirely — and start actually being with each other.
Oh, and it rained. We moved the ceremony inside at the last minute. And we still got outside for portraits.
Because rain doesn’t ruin wedding photos. It just changes them.
