It's been three years since posting to this account, and I'm struggling with the right words to explain such a long absence. Moving, busy kids, trying new things, identity crisis... Which train of thought do I follow? I just couldn't bring myself to start over. I tried a dozen new things with my "extra" time to see if I could still be Mariah without the camera that had been fixed to my body for over 15 years.

It took a lot of time and tears to figure it all out. I still did a handful of sessions each year, but kept it off of social media. Every time I would vow that I was ready to come back, something big would change with my schedule and I'd have to wait.
Finally, enough healing and time has passed, and I'm ready! This fall I stepped back into my old photography ways, and it felt so right.

I'm excited to share lots of what I've been working on, and just felt like I owed an explanation.

I know most of you are still in Texas, and I miss you! I understand if you are ready to move on from following this account. Just know I am so grateful that you were a part of my journey. I still think of bluebonnets and cotton fields and cherish our 11 years there! If you do stick around, then I promise to stick to my unpredictable and infrequent posting schedule. ;)

On the plus side, my kids love to see their friends on my screen while I work! School is getting out soon, and I need all the tips for working at home with kids!

Finally getting around to sharing some bluebonnet spoils! It's been busy around here with birthdays, baptisms, selling a house, buying a house... and all the life in-between!
