20 years ago today I photographed my very first wedding. A milestone I never imagined I would hit which shows just how much I truly love what I do. At the time I was in school for my photography degree and Jamie (the bride) and I had been photographers on our high school yearbook together. A week later I photographed my brother-in-law’s sister’s wedding and a month later a coworkers wedding. The next few years I did a few weddings here and there for people I knew while finishing my degree where I was focused on fashion work. After living in NYC for a year I learned I didn’t love that industry and had moved back to Denver to be closer to John. That’s when I started taking on more weddings on my own as well as working under another company. In 2013 I felt busy enough to finally quit any other work and be able to do photography full time.
To date I’ve photographed 271 weddings and we’ve done video at 78 weddings. I’ve met so many incredible people along the way, both clients and other vendors. I don’t see an end in sight but who knows if I will be able to keep it up for another 10 years.
I took a fun scroll down memory lane to see my wedding photography journey. It was almost impossible to pick out images to represent each year but I can’t believe I have images saved from every wedding I’ve ever done.
